“Chic beach retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

I was very impressed with this property owned by Gloria Estefan. I stayed to attend a wedding, held on property, of some friends. The wedding was awesome and the facility put on a first class production. Happy hour at the pool, overlooking the Atlantic ocean, ceremony in a private setting, dinner in the very nice restaraunt, with after dinner drinks and dancing. Then a midnight buffet, poolside! The accomodations were modern, clean and comfortable. Pool bar upon arrival, overlooking the ocean, good drinks, fair prices. Room with balcony overlooking the pool and ocean view.
The wedding was held on a Sunday, so it was back to work on Monday departure. I am sorry I did not go earlier or have a chance to stay longer. Shops, and restaurants, Vero beachside, all within walking distance. Plenty of activities are offerred. Seems there are often discounted "packages". I will definatley be back.

Room Tip: Most poolside rooms still offer an oceanview.

This resort is absolutely beautiful. The decor is modern with Earth tones which is lots of cream and wood. The smell of incense when you first come in is a little overwhelming. They offer free valet parking which is great. A restaurant is on site but we didn't try it. They give you free vouchers for mojitos at checkin. The rooms are comfortable with amazing showers. The pool area is beautiful and steps from the ocean. The only downside to this hotel is the noise from the hallways so don't try to sleep in. I think this is due to the lack of soft surfaces to absorb the sound. We booked this room on Hotwire and received a good deal. I'm not sure of the regular rate. It was a beautiful resort and we would stay here again.

Hello TNTravelinCouple

The resort is reflective of Gloria and Emilio’s own design aesthetic and the neutral tones allow for a focus on the aqua blue ocean. ;0) I have to agree with your shower comments – seriously the best shower ever. I will pass your noise comments on to our GM for review and to see if there is a solution.

Next time you stay with us a visit to the Wave is recommended, our Executive Chef and his culinary team are all amazing!

A splendidly luxourious resort with friendly service, outstanding food, great spa, ocean front access. Along with the glorious weather at Christmas, staying in this hotel was a gift from heaven. The huge hottub and heated pool were opened 24/7. What a welcome treat with early morning 50 degree temperatures to dip into the hot tub; the pool, then stroll on the beach to catch the sunrise; returning with 70 degree temps. Think oatmeal a bore at breakfast? Not oatmeal served at the Wave; oatmeal creme brulee took this hearty breakfast to new Cuban levels. The Christmas buffet highlighted two roasted stuffed piglets (cochon du lait in Cajun speak); perfectly browned, roasted, seasoned, ummmmmmmmm delish. Great music selection from Gloria Estevan's IPOD beams through resort speakers the entire time. I will return.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean view.

Everybody made us feel welcome, and made our stay " one of a kind".
The staff was helpful and friendly and the resort is really accomodating to "fourlegged" guests as well.
Great food, and the mojitos are fantastic.- we will be back!

Room Tip: the oceanfront rooms are worth the money if you spend time in the oom as we did to relax on our priv...

Hello mcmdog,

We love our guests and their VIP’s (Very Important Pets), so we are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay. We take your compliment of our Mojitos as a high endorsement, knowing that you hale from Savannah. After all as quoted in the book “Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil” the first thing one asks you in Savannah is “What can I get you to drink?” ;0)

Cheers! We hope to see you again soon!

We spent two nights between Christmas and New Years in a ocean front room. The staff is very helpful and professional. Everyone including housekeeping was always friendly with a smile. My only criticism was that the front desk needs to get rid of the Sandalwood incense. I got a headache and wondered what smell they were trying to cover. The hotel needs to remove the outside tables by the restaurant. You have to walk in the rain to get to the South Tower. The rooms were large with large marble bath. The beds were exceptional with down duvet. I loved this place.

Hello worldair

We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay this holiday season. The incense you noticed is Nag Champa Gloria & Emilio’s favorite sent, many guests just love it and ask where they can purchase it themselves. We are sorry to hear you did not appreciate the scent.

Ed our GM superstar will review your comments about the outside dining area, to see if he can come up with a solution.
I see you also had some yummy Swiss food at he Melody Inn too. Come back and see us again soon. :0)

Returning for a two night stay, a year later, we noticed some changes since the affiliation with Benchmark Hospitality, especially members of the new management team. The property continues to improve the overall guest experience.

As was the case last year, we requested and received an oceanfront cabana suite (#112).....our choice, since we prefer direct access to a ground level covered patio as opposed to the terraces offered on the upper floors. In our opinion, the outdoor private lounge furniture for the patio is unusual, unadjustable and for the most part, simply uncomfortable to use....maybe these will be replaced with more functional pieces in the near future.

Executive Chef Antonio Estremera, and his accomplished kitchen staff, represent a quantum leap upward in food quality. Not unusual in the world of emerging culinary artists, Chef Antonio is bringing fusion magic, to The Wave Kitchen. Vero Beach restaurants in general are infamous for offering uninspired dining opportunities. Chef Antonio boldly inspires adventure with spices and flavors from his native Peru and beyond and as a result, attracts both locals and travelers to experience dining explorations.

The sleeping accommodations remain restfully calm and minimalistic rather than opulent and uncomfortable Generous use of wood for interior wall accents and contrasting stone floors create a pleasing palette of natural colors. The plush bedding and organic cotton sheets are both inviting and soothing....all but insuring a comfortable and relaxing night of sleep (the soothing melodic sound of the Atlantic is sure to please).

Other reviews have complained about the size and layout of the ensure bathrooms. We, on the other hand, find the bath setup to be efficient and functional as we prefer full shower stalls instead of tubs or shower/tub combos. The single vanity and counter space seems more than adequate for the use or one or two travelers.

For whatever the reasons, in room coffee service has replaced the complementary lobby service previously offered. Our own choice, at a small resort such as Costa d'Este, would be to offer both options.....the open layout of the common areas invite early more wanderings and a second or even third cup of coffee can be a warm companion when an onshore breeze is blowing.

Costa d'Este Beach Resort is compact, uncomplicated and a pleasant choice to relax and recharge directly on Vero Beach.

Our staff encounters, throughout our brief stay proved to be warm, helpful and anticipatory, at most times, of our every needs and interests. We especially appreciate the attentiveness demonstrated by Pam and Amanda at the front desk. Lewis, in the dining room, was especially considerate in providing extra attention to a 'senior' member of our luncheon experience on the day of our arrival.

b.t.w.....general cleanliness (floor in room and carpets in hallways) has substantially improved since our last visit - A Big Plus!

We'll return next year around the same time in hopes of even a higher level of service and progress in all areas.

Room Tip: Ground level suites are the best....if you're not facing the ocean, you are missing a highlight.

Hello omegaet!

Considering your review last year was titled “Almost Perfecto” we think “Still Improving” is a great compliment. :0)
We are thrilled to here you are familiar with Benchmark Hospitality, this fantastic management company has actually always managed the property, although we are now a part of the newly launched sub brand know as Personal Luxury Resorts and Hotels .

Our oceanfront cabana rooms are a favorite of many guests; please know your furniture recommendation will be considered.

Executive Chef Antonio Estremera is simply AMAZING – I hope you had the opportunity to try some of his flavorful new Ceviche (several are family recipes from his home country Peru).
We are thrilled with your comments in reference to our service levels; especially the word “anticipatory”

We look forward to your next stay, hopefully it won’t be another year before your return and we are shooting for “100% Perfection” as your next review title!

I stayed 4 nights for a meeting in this hotel: very nice and friendly staff, at the reception and everywhere.
The hotel is not too big, and decoration is everywhere perfect. It is in a perfect condition and very clean. My room was quite, modern with nice view on the ocean.
A detail: the elevator was rather slow to arrive, so I prefered to use the stairs.
Good breakfast, served very fast the first day but quite long to be served the other days. It is quite expansive: 4$ for a simple glass of orange juice. I would recommend to go outside for a quick and faster breakfast.
The hotel is ideally located in front of the ocean, with 2 nice restaurants both sides of the hotel.
There is a big and nice meeting room. However, no windows, which is a pity when being so close to the ocean.
If I have to come back to Vero Beach for hollidays, I will definitely choose this hotel, since my feeling about it is very good.
