I stayed again at the Sea Turtle Inn and had all my previous impressions reinforced. Vera and Glenn own and operate the Sea Turtle Inn and have poured their hearts into it and it shows:from the beautiful foilage that envelopes the property, from the delightful and refreshing outdoor seating areas that are scattered around,to the charming and well cared for rooms. Its proximity to the ocean-a two minute walk if that-is another draw.Do yourself a favor , when in or near Vero Beach,Florida stay at the Sea Turtle Inn.

Last weekend my hubby and I stayed at the Sea Turtle Inn in apartment 1A. We got such a great deal that we knew it was too good to be true. I mean, they upgraded us from a room to a full fledged apartment, right off of the pool, with a fully functioning kitchen and even our own screened in porch only one block from the ocean… yep, I was skeptical when we pulled in Friday night.

The first thing I saw was beautiful landscaping… wow, somebody takes great care of the grounds at the Sea Turtle. The grass is lush and thick, the flowers are blooming and the foliage is so dense and colorful. You can tell the owners take pride in this establishment.

So we went in and checked out the inside. EVERY SINGLE thing we could have needed for our romantic weekend getaway was there. There was nothing left out! The kitchen had all the necessary utensils and dishes and small appliances. We didn’t cook; it was my birthday weekend so we used the microwave a LOT and saved a ton of money from using the local restaurants. There was even a bar with stools to sit at if we so chose, or a nice couch and chair in the living room or even the dining room table with 4 chairs was inviting. There were no smells, this is a non smoking establishment and it was very clean.

The bedroom and bathroom suited our weekend needs perfectly and there was even a lounge chair set in the screened-in Florida room right off the bedroom for our relaxing pleasure. It was decorated very nicely all throughout and was definitely a refreshing surprise to find something so nice, in such a great location, without breaking the pocketbook!

The next morning we walked around to see everything outside of the room and found it more charming than ever. Little Sea Turtle statuettes abound everywhere and there is even a laundry room with couch and fully stocked library if you chose to wait on the machines right there. It seems they thought of everything.

The office staff was so friendly and helpful. Kim walked us through the procedure to use the wireless internet connection they provided on our laptop as we didn’t even know how that worked. Friendly and helpful, she and Glen seemed genuinely glad we were there.

We hardly left the resort at all while we were there. Although we did have to have my birthday dinner out at Waldo’s right on the beach, we spent most of our 3 day getaway in the room or lounging by the pool listening to the wind rustle the palm trees and the birds sing their happy songs. The water was chilly but refreshing as we spent time sunning ourselves, just relaxing and talking, laughing and loving, enjoying the company of each other at the most peaceful and charming place I could have imagined we could find. I turned the big 4-0 in style!

The owner was even so kind as to give us a late checkout on Monday and he personally stopped in to talk to us before we left. I hope and pray we get to visit the Sea Turtle and all its lovely charm again and again in the coming years. We even plan to bring all the kids sometime too. I would highly recommend it for couples AND families!

I knew this was an old hotel and chose it mostly for its location. When I walked in the room, there was a strong mildew stench. On first glance, the room seemed clean so I was willing to live with the odor. However, I inspected things more closely before bedtime. There was a dead bug on the ledge behind the headboard and lots of dust bunnies and stuff under the bed. The bathroom was very clean though. The kicker is that when I returned home, my pajamas reeked of that mildew smell so badly I had to wash them TWICE. One last note...there is just one lock to the door, to which I figured anyone could have a key. I felt uneasy enough that I wedged a chair in under the door handle so I could sleep comfortably.

We just returned from 6 nights at the Sea Turtle Inn. What a gem...steps to the beach, night life, restaurants and shopping.
The owners were lovely and very helpful. We were there on
business, but it turned into a very pleasureable experience because of the Sea Turtle Inn.
