I stayed at The Driftwood the night before and the night of my wedding. I was disappointed that when we arrived at 4:30pm our room was still not ready. We needed to change for the rehearsal dinner and the room not being ready was problematic. The room itself was interesting. We had a sitting/living room area and a "bedroom" that could be closed off using shades and shutters. We used the full size refrigerator to hold drinks. The bathroom was average.
The best part of The Driftwood was the view of the ocean. We had a 4th floor room and a clear view of the coast. The hotel has been designated a historical landmark. There are many interesting things to see on the grounds of the property. The driftwood is everywhere! The small restaurant has good burgers. The entertainment is hit or miss. We heard one great singer in the restaurant (Matt Manning) and one not-so-great duo. The pool area is smaller, but there is also outdoor seating for those who would like to dine outdoors.
My parents and friends had suites with two bedrooms. One was quite nice with a street view, the other was average with a pool and ocean view (with balcony).
I thought the rooms' price was a bit high, but I guess that April is still "season" here in Florida . . .
