“Absolutely Heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

My husband and I chose to spend our 37th anniversary at the Amalfi Grille and from the moment we stepped in until the moment we stepped out, we felt comfortable and like family. The owner immediately greeted us as we entered the restaurant and we were shown to a table where we could see the entire restaurant and operations. The server was a young gal who aimed to please and was there any time we needed anything!

We decided to start off with the pasta fazole, an all time favorite to compare it to our favorite at another restaurant. No restaurant has ever surpassed the flavor of our favorite from throught the world, but guess what...this one did! The broth was a lighter pinkish broth vs a red broth and we could detect the flavor of proscuitto in the pasta fazole. Although we had already ordered our entrees, we could have made a meal on this soup along with the warm bread and wonderfully delightful buttermilk topping for the home made bread.

Our entrees consisted of the hogfish snapper in a lemony picatta sauce served atop sauteed spinach and a grouper with the best tasting roasted tomatoes on the planet, also served atop the spinach. Both entrees had more than enough food and in fact, my husband willingly ate the other half of my grouper :)

We ended our meal delightful meal with a chocolate mousse cake with the lightest and fluffiest melt in your mouth chocolate flavor! Superb!

Along the way, our server and the owner stopped by to see if everything was perfect - and it was! Shall we go back? Of course we will! And our answer is...why haven't we visited Almalfi sooner! This was the best Italian we have ever tasted!

“Great food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012 via mobile

We had got alittle lost finding this place the owner waited outside to direct us as we past that was a good sign of caring for customer.... Well it just got better from that point. The food was great from appetizer to homemade deserts by their own pastry chef. Much of the pasta is made fresh and they really present the food in an appealing fashion. Worth a visit for a great old world Italian expierence.

“Real good but terribly overpriced!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012 via mobile

I had an arugula salad with beets with a far too small piece of blackened grouper on top. Over $25 at lunchtime! The flavors were very nice but the portion was tiny...just didn't cut it. I'm certain that other menu items are very good based on the content appearance of the crowd, but I was disappointed over all. I had heard good reviews and was looking forward to a much better experience.

“Best Italian in Vero Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Amalfi has the best Italian food in Vero Beach. Period. After having eaten seafood for about one week straight, we were in the mood for some comforting pasta and familiar Italian specialties. Amalfi did not disappoint and was as good as a place in Philly, New York or Boston when it comes to the quality of the food. The ambience and decor, however, is dated and would not attract a younger crowd interested in spending time in the place for a leisurely dinner. It looks like a place for grandparents and is definitely not hip or chic and the music was piped in elevator music. But for a good food fix when craving Italian, Amalfi is the best choice.

“Head and Shoulders above the rest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

We began our lunch with grilled figs stuffed with goat cheese & wrapped in prosciutto and they were melt in your mouth DELICIOUS! I had eggplant involtini (egglant rolled & stuffed with ricotta & mozzarella & prosciutto and covered in fresh marinara. There is nothing I love more than fresh red sauce or fresh marinara that is uncluttered with anything other than tomato flavor and this was wonderful! We finished our meal with a triple chocolate mousse cake that was equally as deilcious. WELL DONE! I complain constantly about the lack of truly good restaurants in Vero Beach with noteworthy food, but Amalfi Grille is head and shoulders above the rest. If you appreciate fine food made with fresh ingredients and personal service, you'll love Amalfi Grille.
