In season, the restaurant area has live entertainment. We went in February of 2006 and again on 3/30/07.

The 2006 visit was a rip-off. We went ot TJ's to meet some visitor from New England. My wife and I had burgers and a pitcher of Bass Ale. The bill was $72. They added in $20 for an entertainment charge!!! And we didn't stay for the entertainment. On the 3/30 visit we saw a great local band, however you could not get a seat. We stood near the bar area. The bar was full of senior citizens that hardly ever heard of the music the band was playing.....To top it off, most of them were drinking water. The guy in front of us actually split a beer with his wife. Drinks are EXPENSIVE....$4.50 for a Bud bottle....a little high for this neck of the woods. If you go.....bring lots of cash.

My husband and I went to TJ's during our stay in Venice in Feb 2007. We were expecting an Irish bar, but that appears to be in the name only. The food was okay, but nothing exceptional, and the staff seemed to be nice enough. Unfortunately I can't really say the same for the patrons though. Those retired folks are very protective of their bar stools, especially on trivia night...it's a hoot. The place
is crammed full of people until the trivia stops at around 9pm, then the place almost completely empties out. I can't say that I would return there again for a beer when there's a very nice pub right around the corner called the Tap & Cork.

Drew is an awesome guy. A Boston native, he looks like a young Tip O'neil. Big gentle Irish guy with white hair. Made our short visit to downtown Venice memorable. Awesome decor in the bar, and I've been in a few Irish bars.

“Staff is worse than rude”

The staff was absolutly horrible to my fiance and I. We live in Miami and traveled to Venice for a nice relaxing time. Everything about the whole trip was wonderful except this place. We went there Friday evening around 8:30-9. We were staying in the historic venice area. We odered drinks, then food. We were chatting with some locals about how much we liked the area. There was a live band playing and everyone seemed to be having a good time. As I returned from the ladies room, I saw my fiance arguing with the bartender. Apparently she swiped his credit card that we had a tab for, told us we had had enough. She cut us off after 2 drinks and before our food even arrived. We were shocked. We are adults and are perfectly capable of drinking a drink. We were treated like we were acting drunk and disorderly. This was not the case. After this one bartender handing us our check and walked away, the original bartender that was the one serving came up to check on us. When we told her what happened she appologized and offered to open us up another check. We told her that would not be necessary and we wanted our food that we had ordered for dinner packed up. We were completly insulted and offended. We are usually treated very well in restaurants and are very good tippers. We were so insulted we paid our check, no tip and left. As we were walking out, the bartender was literally yelling at us. I couldn't believe this place, I have no idea how they stay in business. The food was pretty bad too when we arrived home. So many nice places in Venice, Avoid this Terrible place.
