Tj carneys is the most fantastic bar in venice. I have lived in venice all my life and no place in town is better. The food is to die for the staff is exceptional there is no place else id rather eat. The entertainment is grand with everything authentic irish singers and soulful funk music. If you want the real irish pub experience make sure you catch the wonderful Ken Mcbride. With his meloudious voice it makes you feel like your back in the old country, and his rendition to the phantom of the opera is absolutly breath taking. The outstanding food cant compare to any where else in venice. Everything is delicious from crab cakes to the corn beef and cabbage i have not had one complaint in all the years ive been going. I visit TJ Carney's every year with my friend. Always greeted with a smile. Although Monday night is basically reserved for the townspeople for Trivia Night, we enjoy it very much. Can't blame them, the "townies" have to put up with all the visitors. Can I mention the HOT bartenders (Frank, Drew, Sean, Jose). Owner was very nice, bought us a round of drinks on our last night there. Wanted to say thanks for our patronage. That I thought was good business practice. I plan on returning again. OH, the food is real good too. Nightly entertainment very good. Can't say enough about the place.

In season, the restaurant area has live entertainment. We went in February of 2006 and again on 3/30/07.

The 2006 visit was a rip-off. We went ot TJ's to meet some visitor from New England. My wife and I had burgers and a pitcher of Bass Ale. The bill was $72. They added in $20 for an entertainment charge!!! And we didn't stay for the entertainment. On the 3/30 visit we saw a great local band, however you could not get a seat. We stood near the bar area. The bar was full of senior citizens that hardly ever heard of the music the band was playing.....To top it off, most of them were drinking water. The guy in front of us actually split a beer with his wife. Drinks are EXPENSIVE....$4.50 for a Bud bottle....a little high for this neck of the woods. If you go.....bring lots of cash.
