Lobster salad was a good portion, nice atmosphere, across from town parking lot, basic hamburger and French fries, good service and out door seating

“Another mediocre Venice restaurant”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

We were looking forward to visiting the new place in town hoping to find another good option so the bride and I swung into the Daiquiri Deck that just opened here.

Unfortunalely, a major disappointment.

We arrived at 5:30 since we had another place to be around 6. After glancing around the really bad wine list, we decided on a neutral V&T. OK, I know it's a daiquiri place but it is a bar. Flat tonic from a gun is never acceptable. I don't care that it's happy hour. No excuse.

The food. The bride had the Hamachi Tacos. Very little tuna and way overdone (think white and dry) with lots of filler. I had the Pepper Crusted Tuna ordered rare. What I received was tuna medium well. Terrible. Being stubborn, we decided to try the Tuna & Mango Tartare since it was getting on and we figured it would be quick but we were still hungry.

Quick? Not so much. 1/2 hour to receive a cold preparation dish. Mango? There if you really looked. Tuna quality? Meh.

Two bright spots.

One - our server, Kristin, was lovely and very attentive. As far as we could see, this was no aberration as all the floor employees seemed to be that way. Can't say as much about the bar or the kitchen though.

The other bright spot? At least it's better than Carney's or Pineapples, though not by much.

Maybe the frozen daiquiris are good. Didn't have one so we can't say. Don't think we will any time soon. $40 for 2 happy hour drinks and 3 not-so-good appetizers. Nope. Not coming back.

“A good stop. Better than average meals tonight.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

Seafood /meal was actually very good for all three of us. Daiquiri was very average/too sweet. Beer options good, including a Cigar City draft. Service was excellent. Server Mariah was enthusiastic, actually listened, attentive and aware. This was a solid restaurant with lots of TVs, and a big bar with a dacquiri specialty bar. I would NOT consider this to be 'just a bar with average food'

“Good Ambiance, Ice Cold Drinks, OK Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

Great place to have a beer and people watch. And there are a heck of a lot of people to watch. Since coming to Venice, Daiquiri Deck hs brought a lot of younger people here. A row of frozen drink machines at happy hour, brought us to a seat at the bar. It was Happy Hour. We did not participate in dining here, but have done so in the past at their Siesta Key location. Food is just average in my opinion. There is outside dining and there were a lot of people dining and listening to the entertaining steel drum music. A fun place to go. Worth a try.....

“Nothing special here. Bar food and the frozen drinks were disappointingly bland.”

Fun bar atmosphere, with music, but eat before you go. It's a nice addition in a quiet community , for the younger set.
