This rookery is very unusual. You normally don't find them in urban congested areas. This park is only a block form a main, highly trafficked road. There were Anhingas, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, pretty much all on nests with chicks. The island in the middle of the pond is no more than 57 feet form the shore. Great views and wonderful photo ops. If you're a birder this has to be on your list to visit when in the area.
