“Authentic, don't go there if you expect Pizza Hut food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

We had the ravioli with goat cheese and truffle cream sauce, excellent! I love the place because you can get items you can't get anywhere else. If you are expecting run of the mill "italian"food that you get at chain restaurants this is not the place for you. Their bread is baked every day in their ovens, fresh and crispy on the outside. I find the staff and especially the owners fun and attentive. Oh and they will serve a chianti wine that you can't get in many places. We go there every time we are in the area.

“Excellent”

One of the two best Italian restaurants in Venice. Good menu choice, very good food. Average price for the quality.

“Noisy inside but if you can get sidewalk seating order the pizza!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

Thin crust pizza topped with arugula and prosciutto is so good! luncheon special a few weeks ago was an omelette with broccoli and on the side there were carmelized onions, arugula and slices of roasted potato...all of which ended up on top of the omelette for a fabulous meal!!

“Try Another Italian Place”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

This restaurant is located in "old" downtown Venice. We were immediately seated inside, but it was too noisy so we ate at a very small wobbly table outside. The menu is limited and not for the average palate. They served us bread with olive oil...we've had better. Our waiter was attentive and our food arrived fairly quickly. However, the pizza was soggy, but the flavor was good. Neither of us liked the salad. Our bill: $30.00 for 1 pizza, 1 soda, 1 ice tea and 1 salad. We won't return here as there are better Italian places to eat.

“On-Street Dining Noisy ... but the bread!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

If you like noisy on-street dining, sit outside, otherwise take a table indoors and arrive early to miss the crowd, this place is hopping! Our Server was pleasant and accomodating, even when we ordered 'off the menu'. The homemade bread is crunchy outside and soft inside, definitely the high point of the meal, it is perfect for dipping in EVOO, though I suspect their olive oil may be blended with other cooking oil. We split the appetizer, a very interesting blop of cheese that was much like Mozzarella wrapped around Ricotta, served on a bed of Arugula with slices of Prosciutto as a base - try it for sure. Again, Entrees were interesting, if typical, Potato Gnocchi was tender, ample portion, Veal portion small, but tasty and served with lots of Capers, the Pizza is not what we expected, crust too thin which causes it to become soggy too soon, lacked sufficient cheese. The combo Pizza/Calzone was strange, half the crust of a full pizza is folded over to create a quasi-calzone that is definitely a disappointment (nice try but it doesn't work). Wine was very expensive but good quality. This restaurant gets a thumb's up, but order something other than the pizza.
