Stopped here for a quick lunch and wow, what a great place. My husband ordered coffee, which is usually not a great idea at 2 in the afternoon, but he said it was outstanding. That certainly boded well for our meals, and we weren't disappointed. I hesitated at ordering the Key West sandwich because of past experiences with dry and stringy prosciutto ham, but this ham was tender and incredibly tasty. The cheese was also amazing, as was the baguette. My husband's sandwich was equally pleasing. Both sandwiches were served with a small salad of very fresh-looking mixed greens. The tomatoes used on the sandwiches and in the salad were not grocery store tomatoes, juicy and with actual flavor. Maybe they have a greenhouse attached to the back of the building? My only issue was that the salad dressing seemed bland; it could have used some lemon or vinegar to perk it up. The restaurant itself is charming, with great views of Venice Avenue. We look forward to returning to Le Petit Bistrot for dinner soon.
