We booked a few days in the Island Inn for our family of 4 and 2 friends at the end of a hectic stay in Orlando.
(We had visited Treasure island two years ago on a day trip and fell in love with the resort so this time we wanted to stay for a few days).
We had a two room suite for our family (2 kids/2 adults) and a single suite for our friends (2 adults). (rooms #304&306 I think).
We arrived slightly early, but the staff were really welcoming and got the rooms cleaned and ready early just for us. Our friends room was clean and smelt fresh, but ours smelt slightly of smoke. No problem, the recepition sent up a really friendly cleaner who sprayed some deodouriser and set up a machine which cleaned the air - great response!
The rooms were a little "faded" and looked like they needed a spruce up, but the beds were clean, fresh and comfortable. The views (gulf) were fantastic and we were SO close to the beach! We really enjoyed the pool, again clean and cared for, and the Tiki bar was appreciated by all the adults!
If we had any negatives it was "room noise". We all suffered from some air con noise but as the weather was so hot (for people from the north of England!) we really need to leave it on, add to this the noise from the en-suite fridge kicking in and out and the first night was quite disturbed. That being said we got used to it after then and slept well.
The positives more than outweighed the negatives.
Overall we were very happy with the stay and would recommend the hotel.

My husband and I stayed two nights at Island Inn, and were very impressed. We did not have reservations, and did not arrive in the area until quite late at night. We were happy to see that they had a night clerk, as many of the surrounding hotels/condos did not. We asked to see the room first, before we actually checked in, and things looked great! The room was #201. It had all tile floors, which were immaculate. The bed was a king. We had a kitchenette, also very, very clean, and had dishes, cutlery, etc. The bathroom had plenty of clean towels, etc, and the shower was very clean as well. The closet also contained extra blankets, pillows, and bed linens. The balcony with a view of the gulf and beach was to die for.

Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay. We have already raved about it to friends and family. I am aware that each unit is indivually owned, so if in doubt I would recommend room #201, because we had such good luck. Everyone working there seemed extremely friendly. I loved the heated pool, and especially the tiki bar! My only tiny complaint would be that the bed was a little firm for my taste, but to each his own!

We stayed at the Island Inn from March 12- march 18, 2006. We stayed in room #310 and loved it. It is really two rooms with a door joining them, which gave my husband and I a small amount of privacy from our three children. There was two T.v's and two bathrooms. (Which helped in the morning to get everyone ready) The balcony gives a great view of the ocean and my childrens balcony had a veiw of the pool and the ocean. The maids are wonderful. They were quite willing to clean the entire room or just anything we asked to be cleaned. We have a teenager who wanted to sleep one day so they just cleaned our side and left the other side. There was always enough towels etc.. They even washed the dishes for us. (We've stayed in other rooms with a kitchen and hoosekeeping wouldn't touch them, Tip or not) The only thing that I could pick on, if I tried really hard to find something, would be the drains were slow in the bathroom. We read that the elevators were slow but we never used them so I can't comment on them. The front desk were helpful with anything that we asked. There is free coffee and tea in the lobby. The bar at the pool makes great creamsicles. The bathrooms at the pool were usally very clean. A great place to stay.

The view was awesome. The beach was great, calm waves. It was your average hotel/motel. It could have been cleaner, but I am noticing that the same is true of many hotels now a days. I would stay there again. I also noticed many of the other hotels in the area were really awful looking and I was relieved to know we were staying somewhere clean.
