My husband and I just returned from our stay at the Island Inn on Treasure Island. Overall, we would rate our stay at this hotel as excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly and the office was open 24hrs. The pool was a nice size, very clean and heated and lighted at night! We loved the fact that our patio doors opened up to the ocean and we could hear the roar of the waves and watch the sunset from our balcony. We rated our stay as excellent as this hotel offered what was important to us: a unit directly on/facing the beach, a heated pool, close to a grocery store and shopping, friendly helpful staff, and a well priced efficiency unit. The hotel was very quiet and it is certainly family oriented.

Some helpful information: The units are all individually owned; thus there are differences/variances in the condition and state of each one. For the most part, they were well maintained. Our unit could have definately used some updating as some things showed their wear (eg, toilet, sink, closet doors) , but everything was very clean and there was new carpet/tile on the floor. The units have microwaves, toasters, coffee makers, dishes etc. There was also a little safe in the room. Our unit with a king size bed also had a small pull out sofa. The housekeeping service was also very friendly and efficient.

There is a supermarket and other local shops within about 10 mins walk which is very handy.

The beach is very wide and you can walk a great distance in either direction of the hotel. The shelling is great too! There are also several public beach access locations that offer showers and washrooms in case you get stuck on your walk.

There weren't too many restaurants within a short walking distance, but many within a 10 minute drive.

The hotel has a "beach bar" by the pool where you can get chips/drinks/hot dogs etc. It is cash only.

There is free coffee in the lobby in the morning and there is a newspaper at your door during the week days.

The island itself seems to be a little quieter than the islands/beaches to the north and south. There are more low rise hotels and condos as opposed to towering buildings lining the beach. We didn't find things crowded at all.

We would certainly return for a stay at the Island Inn. We made our reservations on-line and everything worked out well. You could also call them and make your reservations directly.

One of the better places to stay on Treasure Island, our stay was too short but my wife and I would certainly return. Great staff !!

We've been to Island Inn 5 times and we are planning another visit for this summer. If your looking for a beautiful beach, nice people and great restruants this place is for you. Very relaxing during the day and great fun at night. We can't get enough.

This was my first trip to the Tampa/St.Pete beach area, and I used Trip Advisor recommendations to help in finding a nice place to stay for a long weekend.

The Island Inn deserves the great praise it gets here.

I was pleasantly suprised by the quality of the room. Each room is individually owned and as such, is much nicer than your average hotel room. The quality of the furnishings are well above the usual hotel fare, and I had the feeling that I had borrowed a friends efficiency apartment rather than being in a hotel room.

Each room has a full size fridge, microwave, 2 burner range, and full sink; and comes with all the pot and pans, plates and glasses, silverware, etc. that would be needed. Everything you could need for cooking is there, and a full size grocery store (Topps) is 3 blocks away.

The real beauty of the place is that almost every room has its own balcony, with an unobstructed view of the beach and the Gulf. Watching the sun set from your own balcony, while listening to the roar of the surf, makes it about as good as it gets for a beach location.

The hotel is a quiet place, but you are only a 10 min walk from the main Treasure Island area with a lot of restaurants, shops,and nightlife.

This is an outstanding place for a peaceful, scenic getaway and still be close (walking distance) to everything else you could want.

We will definitely come here again.
