This place was not a place where I would want to spend a vacation....I am very surprised by the number of positive reviews. Checked out the first night! The furnishings were old, the bathroom was dingy, the kitchen stove was covered with grease, the pool water was green, and the window was covered in bird feces! However, the staff members were very apologetic, which is more than can be said about some places.

The Bilmar advertised having a hot tub, gym, game room, and cafe. These are the ammenities that we were looking for when we made reservations for our once a year vacation and why we chose the Bilmar. You can imagine our disappointment when ALL of these were under construction with no advance warning. The room was clean and had a nice tv, microwave and small frig. The bathroom was extremely small with no fan but it did have a tiny window that opened. The parking was horrible. We couldn't park anywhere near our room as a big area outside was roped off for construction which we heard every morning beginning at 8 a.m. There is no breezeway to get to the lobby of the Bilmar from the rooms. You must go through the main entrance at the front of the hotel which is a big inconvenience. The hotel is understaffed at the reception desk and they are not very knowledgeable or helpful about the area. We were told that the construction would be completed at the end of February which did not help us out any during our one week vacation in Dec. The housecleaning staff were very friendly and kept things in tip top shape. The Bilmar sits right on the beach which is very nice.

Other than the view, this place was so under construction that one pool was closed, no helath club, no restaurant other than attached place. I'd never stay there again.

We were guests for over a week- we had two rooms, but only one car. You'd think they could manage one parking spot for two rooms. There was no place to park... all the spots were taken by the bar patrons.
They had parking permits, but they were worthless because noone checked the parking lot. We had to beg for basics like clean towels. The housekeeping was the pits. When they cleaned the room, they never even peeked behind the shower curtain. Our sheets were changed once in 8 days.
Management was not at all helpful. They were only interested in the bar business & a new condo project.
The view was magnificent, the beach lovely.
