Middle Grounds is a family-run restaurant, not a chain. But someone in the family must have an outstanding sense of customer service as well as a skill in preparation and presentation of superb meals. In an area full of tiki bars and fast food joints, Middle Grounds is a welcome oasis. After eating there twice (in a 3-night period) I was amazed at how every single person on staff was attentive, knew exactly what to do and how to do it; the service was truly exceptional -- attentive yet not overbearing. They have all had superb training. As for the food, the calimari is to die for. And the King Crab, wow! I happened to be staying on Treasure Island for a few days, and so it was an easy place to dine. But in the future I'll happily drive 10-15 miles out of my way to go there. It is truly special.
