“Best of 5 places we've stayed at Treasure Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2011

The room, the location, and value add up to the best place we've stayed at Treasure Island in the past ten years. We enjoyed the balcony on the marina/waterway side of the hotel and it was relatively quiet short of a dog bark now and then from the first floor. I would suggest that unless families with pets are a "huge" part of the hotel's revenue that their pet policy be reconsidered. We're definitely not pet haters, but prefer them in a kennel or elsewhere when on vacation. Otherwise all was excellent and we plan to stay again.

Room Tip: Expedia price was good.

My husband and I stayed here many times before but this time we decided to bring the kids with us. One is 16 and another one is 8. They loved the hotel and the area where is located. The rooms were clean, comfortable and very nice tropical decorated. Free Wi-fi for the teenager was great. The marina in the back for the little one was a big surprise. He love boats and fishing. The beach is across the street. (Too cold this time) Plenty of restaurants in a walking distance. At night we visited the Ice Cream parlor right next to the hotel. Family opertated, the service was great, very friendly people and they had plenty of flavors to choose from. Don't miss this if you love Ice Cream! Driving distance you can visit John Pass boardwalk, plenty of stores and restaurants. For fishing we went to Pass a Grill, about 30 minutes drive south.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the marina are quieter.

This was our first visit to treasure island. We traveled with our young son and were pleasantly surprised by the spacious rooms. Although we knew beforehand that there was no breakfast, the hotel should offer this in the future. The complementary pastries we would not have missed. The hotel is located directly adjacent to a Waffle House and for a number of travalers that would be sufficient I guess.
Our room overlooked the ocean which gave great views at sunset. The hotel is conveniently situated for the beach. The pool is quite small. Overall we were positive and would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: room with sea view is essential

TBHM is a budget hotel (I paid roughly $100 / night) that provides tremendous value in a great location. Don't expect a beach resort environment with1,200 thread-count sheets and a chocolate on your pillow. The rooms are updated, large, and clean (everything else is pretty much clean as well and serviceable). Ample, free parking with easy in-and-out access. There's a pool, but it's small. If you want a real Gulf-view, go for the third floor rooms. The staff are friendly and efficient, but they're not going to fawn over you. The hotel is across the street from public access for Treasure Island Beach, so this hotel is ideal if you want convenient beach access without on-beach prices. There's a Waffle House next door for food, but expect a wait in the morning because the place is popular. The hotel is a couple of blocks from the Treasure Island Causeway, which provides access via 1st Street South to downtown St. Pete and all of its attractions. I traveled alone, but I think this hotel would be great for families with kids who want a nice vacation to the beach and who want to stay at a modern, clean hotel but who don't want to blow their budget by wasting it on a fancy, on-beach hotel. Instead, spend the difference on nice dinners and old-timey Florida attractions like Sunken Gardens. Assuming that I get the same rate in the future (around $100 / night for a gulf-view room), I'll be back to this hotel in a heartbeat.

We spent two midweek nights at this hotel. The front desk staff person was very friendly and helpful.
She recommended a room on the 3rd floor which offered the best view of the Gulf of Mexico. Though the hotel is across the street from the Gulf there is a city owned beach acess so the view of the Gulf is quite good. The room was comfortable and clean with plenty of towels which were changed out for fresh each morning.
We enjoyed our stay here and would return.

We made a reservation at this hotel because of price and location. We had never been to Treasure Island before, and this place looked decent. We booked thru Hotels.com, but then had some questions about the location so phoned the hotel directly. They ended up matching Hotels.com price, but also gave us a room preference. I phoned back later with a different room preference, and had no problem changing. We originally had the room for 3 nights, but then asked for 1 more night after we got there because it was spring break, and thought the whole area would be packed. We got the last room, (but retained ours), with no problem. As it turned out we got 2 more nights and stayed the whole stay at this hotel. Very laid back atmosphere, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. EWithin walking distance to bars and restaurants. Next to beach

Room Tip: Phone hotel direct to get best rate matched
