DO NOT STAY AT THIS 'MOTEL'. YOU WILL REGRET IT.

We booked a family appartment atthis motel 8 months in advance, and going by the website, we were looking forward to spending 16 nights there.

My family (wife & 2 kids aged 4 and 6) arrived at 10PM to find a scribbled note on a door informing us of a room number and to check-in in the morning. When we loctaed the room, we found it filthy and it obviously had not been cleaned for some time. There were hairs all over the bathroom and balls of dust under the pull down sofa. There was odd socks and other items in the drawers in the bedroom ( which were also filthy) that appeard to belong to previous occupants. The aluminium foil under the heat rings of the cooker were also very dirty and unhygienic.

The pull down sofa - which had been advertised as sleeping 2 persons - was simply a joke. The matress was about 4 inches thick and stained with who knows what. The bed linen supplied for this 'bed' was also dirty and smelly. Half eaten candy was stuck to the inside of the sofa. My wife and I were forced to share our childrens beds as the sofa was not fit for an animal.

In the morning, when we raised the above points with the so-called manageress, we were met with nothing short of hostility, intimidation and disrespect. Almost instantly we were told to leave and people who complain are 'not welcome' there. She refused to move us to an alternative room. She would not accept that the room was unclean and stated that the pull down sofa was not for sleeping on! She then said that only children should sleep on the sofa... The manageress continually told us that we were not welcome and that we should seek different accommodaion. Eventually she agreed to accompany me to the room and only when I showed her its filthy condition, did she agree that it was dirty. This, however, did not change her stance or aggressive attitude towards my family.

On telling her that we were not prepared to stay, she laughed and took great pleasure in informing us that we would find difficulty in locating other accommodation as it was spring break and that we would be back at the Suncoast Motel later that day.

I told her that I would not be paying for the short time that I had the mispleasure of being within her establishment, she informed me that she had already charged our credit card for 3 nights. She even followed us out to the car park when we were leaving to continue her smug and aggressive verbal assault in front of my wife and upset young children.

In short, I have never been treated with such disrespect and hostility when raising a valid complaint at any establishment that I have resided in anywhere in the world.

My overall experience at the Suncoast Motel was disgusting.

Anyone contemplating staying at the Suncoast Motel should strongly re consider and seek alternative accommodation.

We easily located alternative accommodation in nearby and, not suprisingly, each time we drove past the Suncoast Motel, the sign outside continually displayed ' Vacancies'. I wonder why..

When I was just a kid my father and mother would book a one full week stay at the suncoast Motel. Back in those day's Mike and Connie were just like family. I have not stayed there from my 15th birthday until last year. What memories and I will turn 54 my next birthday. Thank You for keeping this little Gem of a beach resort the apple of my eye.

I give this place an A+. Love it! Love it! Love it!! This place is wonderful. My husband, I and our two kids stayed in a clean and cozy one bedroom apartment. It had everything we needed a full kitchen seperate bedroom (for when we put the kids down). cable televison, daily maid service etc. etc. The beach is a bit wider than the sister beaches but well worth it for the privacy!! We did not have to worry about where to find a spot, it was like having our own private beach. We would bring our umbrellas and beach chairs and the kids would play for hours, collecting seashells and builing sand castles. Then we would take a dip in the pool. The owners are very friendly and accomadating as well. We will definately be back!

I stayed out on Treasure Island beginning Monday July 9th 2007 and checked out on Thursday July 12th.

I was a guest at the Suncoast Motel which I found to be very lovely with lots of lush gardens and places to sit outside to chat with new-found friends in the evening.

The wide, sandy beach is only steps away from the motel. Oh! The Suncoast Motel rates were very affordable for someone like me, on a social security budget! I recommend the off-season to anyone thinking about vacationing on the beaches. November is also a lower rates month.

I had such a wonderful time there, and shopping and restaurants are but a short trolley ride away. I hopped on right in the same block as the Suncoast Motel is in.

My favorite meal of the whole time spent on Treasure Island was in Dolphin Shopping Center (go there!) at Denny's for my birthday dinner.
