We recently stayed at the Surf and can say it was unusual at best. It is a condo rented out like a hotel. When we arrived I was less than happy with the room. Being on the small side was ok because there are just two of us but we like the space of a two bedroom and have stayed at many condos considerably bigger. The biggest problem was the rooms bathrooms! We had a handicapped unit, and one bath was huge and one so small you felt like you were in a cruise ship bathroom, only even the cruise ship bathrooms had a place for toiletries. Also the carpet and living room furniture was quite soiled. (read about black stuff in other reviews) The front desk was very nice and moved us to a different unit but on the condition we had to move again on our last night because of bookings. The second unit was much better but still the carpet was scary and the couch suspect. The last night was spent at a regular room that was low on amenities and yucky too. I can't give any of the three rooms we stayed a rating that I would a room at a red roof inn. I am not a clean freak but never felt relaxed anytime I was in the room. We have stayed at many timeshares/condos etc. and I have never had cleanliness issues before. Whats really funny is we get most of our condos from a vacation website and this is the most we ever paid for one. Beach was great, area was ok but will not be back.

Wonderful hotel/condo and staff. Truly gulf front (acres and acres of beach) with an awesome view, very clean beach. Certainly not crowded. Beach sidewalk for strolling, jogging or biking. Playground and snack bar in easy walking distance. Great value for 2 couples or families needing 2 bedrooms/2 baths. Hotel/condo was more than advertised - very clean, comfortable, new. Elevators make top floors easily accessible. Several very reasonable shops within easy walking distance if you need anything. Washer and dryer and internet access were great additions. The staff was very helpful and personable - a HUGE plus for any hotel, or during an extended stay. We would definitely go back!

The view from the balcony of the gulf of Mexico was spectacular.
The sunsets were the prize of our stay. The beach is the biggest I have experienced in Florida, not crowded and very clean.
Excellent restaurants within walking distance. Courteous people to greet and help you. We plan on returning every year. Excellent activities in St Petersburg--just 15 minutes away.

We recently stayed at Surf Beach Resort for two nights. There were very spacious rooms on the sixth floor. We highly wish to endorse your manager and various staff members, Larry who was efficient and courteous in solving our minor issues concerning forgotten toiletries. His assistance in promptly caring for these matters was most congenial. Since we've retired we travel often and have seen lack in most hospitality services.
We loved the condo, the Tommy Bahama decor, and tropical atmosphere. We will be recommending this to all of our friends and family. We will definitely be back. Excellent staff is an asset to your company and is to be commended!!!
