“Super fun bar!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

We didn't eat here - but was a big bar, outdoor seating by the pass. Great band - lots of people - fun place to go.

“Local Landmark”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

This is your typical beer & wings place. It is located on John's Pass with great view of the boats coming into the pass during the sunset. They have tons of parking. Have live bands outside & sometimes inside. There is outdoor seating & indoor seating. The place has two levels & is huge.

The name kind of gives it away. This is a University of Florida mecca. There is UF Gator memorabilia all over the place. There are pix of the patrons in their Gator gear. I think you can even buy UF Gator merchandise here too.

The food is good, as good as fried food & sandwiches can be ... think Hooters. However, it is a great place to hang out & watch a football game or any other sporting event. After a day of fun in the sun, the beach crowd starts rolling in. It can get crowded and makes for a great meat market or pick up spot ... whatever you prefer. If you wanna get drunk, have fun near the water, and have some good food, come on by.

Oh yeah, boaters ... they got you covered. Tie a line on the dock & stop by. Just don't let the marine patrol catch you getting on your boat drunk. They will take your boat. And no, the rumors that they throw you overboard and see if you can swim back to your boat to pass the sobriety test are not true. That was in the old skool days.

“Watching the pelicans”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Ate lunch here while working on the Johns Pass draw bridge. The view is awesome, dolphins, rays and pelicans playing in front of you.
Ordered the gator tail plate and an order of onion rings. Big mistake, Way too much food for one person. The gator was very tasty. The onion rings were some of the best I have ever had.
service was quick and friendly

We love to eat at least one meal here while we are staying at the Beach House Motel. It is within walking distance. We like to bring a family member who hasn't been here so they can try the gator bites!!

“Great Views, Average Food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Beautiful views on a sunny day with boats, dophins and soaring birds. Great for a few beers, but the service was lackluster and food below average. They have a new menu and prices must have gone up as we ordered the grouper and was told by waiter twice it was $14.95. After we got the food we were told sorry but the fish sandwiches are $15.95, not $14.95. Greasy onion rings with a bland coating. We waited quite a while for the food and it was brought out no silverware and napkins. The waiter reached across the table to serve others and almost knocked me over - come on now - train your wait staff! This is probably a great place for a few beers and to watch those fabulous Gators play but I would hold off on the food. It is lovely though sitting out on the patio watching the jet skis, boats and wildlife!
