“Only the newer gulf front units are worth a trip”

We stayed there for 4 days. Unfortunatly we had a room directly to the street.
The room itself was sticky, dirty and has to be urgently renovated, thats what we told the desk clerk. She said, it may be renovated in the future.
The kitchen was not fully equipped. A lot of dishes, cups, pots.... were missing.
So you can't cook anything, except for spaghetti or pizza in the oven (if you don't mind the dirt).
I am really not that perfect myself in house-cleaning, but if you visit Trails end, you should be aware that this is really so dirty, that (after showering) stepping over the carpet leaves your feet black. Use shoes, all time. The wall paper is also lose. And the sofa bed is not good to sleep on, its at least 20 years old. All furniture was more than only used...
Only the new renovated gulf front apartments are delightful. I had a view into one.
If you stay in this apartment, you are a lucky person. The beach is great, anyway.
You are directly on white sand beach, near to Johns pass village, so the environment is great.
Pool area was also nice and the garden was gorgious.
But remember: when booking, ask for the newer renovated gulf front rooms, then your stay can be perfect!

We arrived at about 7:00 p.m. on a Saturday to the most awful place I've ever stayed. We looked immediatly for another place. We ended up having to stay one night. We had 6 people in our group. Our bedding had not been cleaned, their was animal hair on it. As my girls were going to sleep, one sat up and asked where that strange light was coming from. It was a crack in the wall and she could see the street lights! The was an outlet hanging in place because of so many holes in the wall. Smelled of mildew, our carpet was overly wet. This is not a place to stay if you have any taste. Drink alot if you plan to stay so you won't notice the difference!
We had 4 teens with us and they all said they would rather go back home than spend their Spring Break at the Trails End. It was the "End of the Trail" for us!

We stayed at Trail's End as it was a last minute trip last week and every hotel in St Pete Beach and most in Treasure Island were booked. Compared to other TI hotels, which are almost all mom and pop-type, it was pretty decent, but it is not a luxury hotel, barely a 2 star in fact. The beach is huge and beautiful, the pool looked clean, but we didn't use it, there was a cute little courtyard, the buildings looked a little old, but in pretty good shape, the room was just OK. IT did smell very musty and didn't look that clean but we only stayed 2 nights.
We ate at the Waffle House and Sloppy Joe's and also a place called PJ's on St Pete Beach.
I don't think I would stay here again unless it was just 1 night and I was desperate.

“Fantastic New Find”

We just lodged at the Trails End and had a wonderful time. We had our Holiday at one of the newer condo hotel to start, but had to move to due to some sort of glitch in the system. So my wife and I moved a couple of doors down to the Trails End and saved quite a few pounds in the process. The motel actually had a nicer grounds (pool, grounds and such) than the Condo Hotel we stayed at before. The Treasure Island area is under a lot of new construction, with million + dollar condos being constructed on the beach. I wish I had the millions to buy one, but for less than $100 was right on the beach. I'm sure it won't be long before they catch on to the fact that they are priced low. The draw bridge was closed in Treasure Island while we were there... I think they are builing a new one so you have to drive a bit out of the way to get to the mainland. If you go out to eat try the new "Cabana Club" it was quite nice.

“Fantastic place to stay”

Upon arrival to the Trails I felt instantly relaxed, the lush tropical landscaping, beautiful pool area, direct view of the sugar sand beach, gently sea breeze and the smell of the salt air, all spelled Vacation. My wife and I stayed in one of the newly renovated Gulf Front units, we didn't want to leave, it was a sad day when we did. The only problem we had when staying there was a problem with our remote for the TV, but they corrected the problem within about 15 minutes...batteries had gone bad. There are some nice shops in the Johns Pass area about a mile to the north of the motel. If you go out to eat I would try: Captain Kosmakos and Scullys, there is also a nice German lunch or dinner spot called Cafe Berlin in the downtown area of Treasure Island.
