“Convenient and priced right for this area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

I stayed here while diving with Conch Republic Divers in early March of 2013. The rooms are not luxurious - this place seems to have been here for quite a while, and appears to have been built in the 60's or possibly earlier. All outside entrances, but a good option in an area (close to Islamorada and Key Largo, right at Tavernier Creek) where conventional hotels are a bit pricey. The front of the hotel faces the main road, the back is on the water and they have dock space available for fishermen or others who want to be close to their boat.

It is right across the street from Conch Republic, so it was very convenient for us. There was a microwave, small fridge, and flat screen TV (which I never turned on in the 4 nights I stayed here. The front desk closes at 8PM, but they called to let me know that they would leave a realtor's key safe on the door to our room and gave me the combination, so I could let myself in since I arrived late. They were very accommodating and helpful - I was planning to be on a dive boat the next morning before the office opened, so they said to just stop in and do the paperwork of checking in after I got back. Very nice!

Bed was a bit creaky, but comfortable. The room was well-cared for overall and though showing a few signs of age, it still was perfect for what I needed and I would stay there again. A coffeemaker in the room provided hot water for our thermos of tea that went with us on the dive boat (it was unseasonably cold for diving and hot tea was a welcome luxury when climbing back on the boat after a dive).

If you need room service and the idea of an older hotel with outside entrances (covered by a large awning, providing lots of protection from sun and rain) isn't your thing, you can try the Marriott Courtyard in Key Largo, but you will pay double for it.

I was comfortable and happy.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side facing the water would probably be more picturesque and quieter. (Less road n...

Thank you for your review!! We appreciate our customers input since the Creekside Inn Islamorada is a work in progress. Though nothing extremely fancy, our rooms are clean, large and well equipped. We have just added a waterfall, tiki huts and music to one of the pools and a large sandy lounge area with a floating dock on the canal for all our guests who are not planning on fishing or diving. Hope to see you back soon!

I have stayed here twice before and was pleasantly surprised to find much of the hotel newly renovated. The best part of our stay was meeting the new friendly and hardworking owners. We will be back next year for sure. Special discount for divers diving with the Florida Keys Dive Shop.

We booked our 2 night stay online, and were a little taken back when we arrived. We have never had to sign so many papers to stay at a hotel/motel/inn. Sign a paper for the key, sign a paper for the tv remote, sign another paper for the room and finishings. Makes you feel like like they don't trust anyone. It's a 2 floor Inn with outside entrances and no elavator. Being seniors we were worn out by the time we got our bags up to the 2nd floor. Our room was nice and clean, however, cozy with a king bed. Not much storage space for luggage, and no towel racks to hang your wet towels on. If you don't pack your own hair dryer you will have to go the office to get one, and most likely sign another paper. For those of you who carry your computers with you, the wifi connection is very slow. I would not say the the staff is friendly. We arrived an hour early, and they would not let us in our room. Doubt if we will stay there again when we visit friends in the area. In our opinion they are not customer friendly.

We are very sorry to hear about your bad experience. We try really hard to be very accomodating and friendly. You should have mentioned you wanted a room on the lower level or put a special request if you booked online, making our guests comfortable is very important for everybody here at Creekside Inn Islamorada. The WiFi conexion has just been updated and it is working great and we have added towel hangers to the bathrooms thanks to your suggestion. We are also working on reducing the amount of paperwork at check in. Again thank you for your valuable input and our apologies for that inconvenience too. Hope you decide to stay with us again in the future!

This motel has had many improvements over the past couple years since the new owners took over. I have been staying here several times a year. There has been a genuine attempt to make the rooms more comfortable and accommodating to the traveler. It's been very nice to have the addition of new beds, furniture, wall fixtures and TV. Having free Wifi is unusual and I use it extensively. The opaque windows are nice so you can have sunlight without sacrificing privacy. The staff is very friendly and I always enjoy having the occasional conversation during the course of my stay.

Room Tip: Efficiencies rooms are generally larger.

We decided to "wing it" thru the Keys and didn't have a place to stay, or any idea what was open. It was a busy weekend for traveling and we saw the vacancy and turned in. We were lucky to get the last room. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and the room was large and clean. Nothing fancy but very comfortable.

We booked this on line and a bit blind as we were travelling around Florida and were not sure about the hotel, but as soon as we arrived we were put at ease. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and the rooms are very clean and well equipped. The whole experience here has been great and would not hesitate to book here again if we are in the Keys again. The view from our door over the water and across the creek are beautiful in the morning and especially at sunset.
can not find anything negative about this hotel.

Took a guy's long weekend with the boat to Creekside. Rented two efficiencies for three nights and our over experience couldn't have been better. Before this management took over, years ago this place was a rowdy dump.
The management and onsite receptionist could not have been nicer and more helpful. It's nice to stay at hotel where the owner takes an active interest in your stay.

Rooms were nice, clean and equipped for cooking. Having your boat 10 feet from your room is what staying in the Keys is all about.

Will be taking my family next trip. For the price and service, this is a great deal!
