“Cozy and quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

We were planning a 2 week tour of the Keys and I spent hours researching both the Keys and the many places to stay. We read such good things about this place and I am so glad we stayed here! Our week here was the best part of our vacation and if we ever go back to the Keys we will definitely book another stay here. While we were there we met 3 other couples who have made the resort a yearly destination and that should speak volumes. We stayed in one of the pool view cottages and found it clean and comfortable. We used the outdoor grill several times and I loved being able to sit on my own private tiki hut porch and drink my morning coffee.
If you are looking for a loud boisterous party atmosphere, this place is not for you. Also if I was traveling with young children I would probably look for a place with more things for kids to do.
For us this place had everything we wanted...heated pool, snorkling off the beach, and areas to watch the sunset.

The location is what makes Atlantic Bay. It is right on the bay with an nice area of sand ( which was raked every morning) with gorgeous sunset views. We stayed in one of the cottages. Situated between Islamorada and Key Largo gives you an opportunity to visit many areas without too much of a drive.
The staff was exceptional. Danielle was so pleasant and went out of her way every time we asked a question or needed something. The workers were friendly and also were willing to help us in any way.
If you want an nice fancy hotel, this is not the place for you. The cottage that we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. I was a little worried at first but it was more than fine for our stay.

Room Tip: See if you can get the cottages right on the beach.

Lasted 5 minutes and left as fast as we could. Musty, old bedding, mish mosh and dingy. There was a shower curtain hung on the front door as we walked in. Not sure what that was about. We asked for 2 beds and got a king and a futon(which was green...not a pretty green) Manager was nasty when I called her & told her we wanted to leave. She said she would split the king into two singles...I was afraid there were gonna be bedbugs. RUN for your life...it's the Bates motel.

Room Tip: Go to the Hilton in Key Largo...best extra $60 bucks I ever spent!

The location is very nice and private. The peacocks wake you up in the morning. Very disappointed in the room. A/C unit in wall of bedroom we found it difficult to cool the living room area. Water stains on lampshades Very musty smell not worth the money we paid

We stoped to look at some sandals and ran into the nicest coulpe ever. Asked 4 some good places 2 eat. They gave us a few places then asked if we were planning on staying the night. We said yes and the young man said his family owned a cute resort on the beach. He gave us his # and said 2 call after din. We had din and called him back he came and meet us 2 show us our room. We were blown away at how cute it was. It was dark when we got there and didn't c all the beauty till the morn. We only stayed 1 night and went onto Key West. We did enyoy it but couldn't wait 2 get back 2 Tavenier. We stayed another 3 days at Atlantic Bay Resort. We meet some great people there and had some great fun with them. Sitting out on the beach watchin the sunsets and catching lemon sharks from the shore. There is no other place like this. We can't wait 2 come back again. The rooms r so cute, well taken care of and the staff r all fantastic. Thank u all so much 4 such a great vacation. Hope 2 c u all soon xxxxx

Room Tip: We stayed in 3 different rooms. # 16 was such a sweet room close to the beach with a sweet little p...

The manager Danielle was very helpful and put up with our late notice and late arrival. The TV needed some attention, connection was bad. The grounds are very nice; the cats and peacocks strolling around added to the enjoyment. The futons in the living area could be replaced, the springs are starting to poke through. I think it would be great for a week's stay.

Great little resort with beach, swimming, snorkeling and nice rooms. Wonderful sunsets. Will stay here again. Enjoyed having a fully stocked kitchen. Can rent kayaks from a local provider for 24 hours and enjoy the water. Very nice resort.

Room Tip: First floor preference
