On arrival e found the keys to our room taped to the office door with no site of the staff around. On arival at our room we found that no bedding was allocated for the third member of our party so we had to look about for a member of staff. we EVENTUALLY FOUND A spanish speaking member of staff who gave us sheets etc so WE could make the bed up. We came across a desperate family who had been without hot-water for several days, they had two young children who had not had a bath for days. They eventually used our bathroom.
We did not see or have a visit from the owners during our stay!

We took a long weekend recently for our Anniversary and stayed at the Atlantic Bay Resort in Taveriner, Fl. This is a small city between Key Largo and Islamorada. We had a water view room which was really a small cabin like place that was delightful. It had a good size bedroom with a king size bed, maybe in need of new mattresses but sleepable. The kitchen was fully equipped with dishes and pans if you wanted to cook, also a coffee pot and toaster. The living area had a futon that would open to a double bed and a nice size flat screen tv, we were there for the opening of the Olympics and had to watch that. The outside is the real bargain, we were only 50 feet from water edge, plenty of quiet and just relaxing spaces. It's actually on the Gulf side regardless of the Atlantic in the name, a pier and docking spaces for boats are provided. There is a lovely family of peacocks who wander about, along with iguanas and other tropical inhabitants. It's close to many restaurants and the Marine Sea LIfe thing in Islamorada.

This place is a hidden gem. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing place this is it. If you are looking for modern rooms, then look elsewhere. The propery is absolutely gorgeous!! The rooms are bare and just ok. But would definatly return for another adult weekend. Not for children in my opinion. There is not really a beach area that you can access without climbing over rocks and the pool is small. Can't see the kids having too much to do. But for an adult weekend it was nice and relaxing! Loved the peacocks roaming around!

This is a nice place with pretty grounds. The rooms are kind of old, but clean. Pool is pretty nice. Okay for fishing on the little dock, but some people just take over the whole area and some aren't even staying there. The best part is relaxing in the chairs or hammock with a drink at sunset. Overall, pretty nice visit, would probably return.
