Kudos to the chef, sommelier, server, management and owner. Truly a fine dining experience. We kept it simple with French onion soup for my fellow diner, strip steaks for both of us, the Bern's house salad, and desserts in the dessert room. The sommelier was helpful in guiding me to an older vintage Chateau Leoville Poyferre that we both enjoyed. The server gave us a bit of history of the origins and growth of the restaurant. I enjoyed the choice of sauces for the aged Nebraska beef--I chose a port cream sauce while my companion chose bleu cheese. Our reservation was at 9:00 PM and my friend arrived about 30 minutes late. Although they stop seating people at 10:00 we were still allowed to go to the dessert room after dinner and were not rushed to get out of there. I appreciate that extension of courtesy to late diners.
