“Very nice experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2008

We found the Comfort Inn a very comfortable place to stay. Overall it was in very good condition and the rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. They have a great continental breakfast for their guests that was always well replenished. The one down side is that there's not much close by for shopping or dining except a very good steakhouse next door. Public transportation doesn't stop at this location because of the adjacent high traffic highway. They do have a shuttle service to the airport and other locations nearby but be prepared to wait. I highly recommend this place if you have a car to get around.

  • Liked — Reasonable price in comparison to other accommodations
  • Disliked — Lack of shopping within walking distance and no public transportation stops

Had problems with shuttle service. Called twice, waited an hour and a half and it never came. Outside appearance of hotel is neat but very dated. Unpleasantly surprised that there were ONLY outside entrances to rooms. Stairways to second level are badly corroded and felt somewhat unsafe. No elevators, so non-ambulatory relative could not get to our room. Staff seemed confused and overwhelmed. Room was very clean and well-maintained. Website does not accurately represent the hotel. Had we known there was a Holiday inn Express next door, we'd have booked it instead.

The hotel’s exterior and room were very dated. The bathroom was clean as it could be made but had imbedded grime on the floor and shower walls. The tub was stained. The room smelled of mildew. The carpet in front of the sink was soggy. All of the rooms open onto the parking lot, with no internal hallways. The hotel is made up of several buildings so you may have to walk some distance to the main office for your continental breakfast in the morning. There is no cover for parts so if it is raining plan on getting wet. I did feel reasonably safe, my room was quiet and the bed was comfortable enough. There is a steakhouse restaurant sharing the parking lot so you don’t have to drive to get a bite to eat. The internet connection was sporadic and to print my boarding pass I had to go the Holiday Inn Express next door. The two hotels have the same owner but the HIE is new and very nice. I think I'd opt for that one the next time.

  • Liked — Having a restaurant next door
  • Disliked — the musty smell in the room and the soggy carpet

To go along with the shuttle problems stated by DenCo, you MUST call ahead to request shuttle service. Nowhere on the website does it tell you this, so be advised. You will sit there forever watching all the other shuttle services go by every 5 to 10 minutes but NOT the Comfot Inn/Holiday Inn Express van.

Also when we were there the pool was closed for renovation. Nowhere on the website did it tell you this eaither. Remind you, we went high season spring break time. Go figure, great time to close the pool for renovation.

Yes, the Holiday Inn Express is right next door, the two share the property. It is owed by the same owner. So you ARE able to use amenities at both hotels.

The room was standard, but fine for one night before we went on to the beach area.

Great value. I expected a below average hotel but was very pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and comfort of the room. The beds slept great, the bathroom was not at all scary, and the continental breakfast was delicious. I thought this place was great, especially for what you pay for it.

We had problems with the shuttle service. The van seems to be marked with "Holiday Inn Express" in larger letters than "Comfort Inn", and that leads to all sorts of confusion upon arrival at the airport late at night. Be advised if the shuttle service is important to you.
Overall the hotel was fine, but we wouldn't risk repeating the shuttle experience and would not stay there again.

Stayed here three nights in a suite. Suite was just two connecting rooms, one with beds and second with small two person couch (no easy chair), desk, and small microwave and fridge. There were fleas in this second room in the carpet. High speed wireless internet only worked part of the time, and was about speed of a dial up connection. Since rooms are in separate buildings from lobby you have to walk ouside to get to free breakfast, so remember this for rainy days. The room was pretty clean though and quiet, and air conditioner worked well. Breakfast was adequate. All in all I would stay here again if price was right since hotels closer to airport are more expensive.
