Stayed here one night before we cruised. Shuttle picked us up at the airport. Warm welcome by Latoya at the hotel, room was neat and clean. Breakfast in the morning in the lobby, very good, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, coffee, cereal, danish, juice, muffins. People have said the pool is small, yes it is but you can us the pool at the hotel nextdoor. Free hotel shuttle took us to the mall for dinner and than picked us up after. Free shuttle to the pier in the morning by Dean. When we got back from the cruise we called the hotel and Dean came and picked us up and took us back to the airport.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Hampton Inn Rocky Point. Our primary goal was to choose a hotel that would also give us access to downtown Tampa- specifically the St. Pete's Forum. The Rocky Point area was recommended by several other people on Trip Advisor as accessible. In theory- yes its only about 7-8 miles to downtown from Rocky Point- but it is primarily all interstate driving which at various times due to constant traffic tie ups ran us a good 20-25 into the city. While the hotel accommodations were standard Hampton Inn (i.e. superior bedding and a good hot breakfast) the Rocky Point location was pretty remote- there are no stores, gas stations or any other conveniences on the point. We did find out by inquiring at the desk that there is a tiny convenience store tucked inside one of the other hotels but the location made it difficult to get essentials. Also photos make the hotel (and its sister Holiday Inn Express Rocky Point) look like they are directly on the water- they are not. In fact the only beach on Rocky Point is so small it could hardly be termed a beach. Our initial thought was to stay closer to Busch Gardens but several postings on Trip Advsor led me to believe that Busch Boulevard was not the best area- seeing it first hand I did not see the problem with it- its just very commercial. I think we would have made out better staying in that area afterall.

Bed bugs bite next day was bad

My son and I stayed at this hotel for one night prior to a cruise. Even though we arrived late, the shuttle from the airport was available. Our room was ready and check in was easy. The hotel offers standard Hampton amenities and was clean and well maintained.

The desk clerk arranged a cab for us to the pier. It is about a 20 minute ride and cost about $30. We'd use this hotel for the same purpose in the future.
