My wife and I stayed at this property for the second time this past weekend. It also was our anniversary. I want to give a shout out to the valet outside. Since they are the very first people that guests will encounter, I hope the management staff recognizes their excellent attitudes and positive outlook. Everytime we left the property, we were greeted by our names...we never waited for the car and the help with the luggage was awesome. We pulled up, checked in at the front desk and then without seeing our room, we had to leave for another appointment. When we returned, everything was in perfect order. Luggage delivered.
Upon learning it was our anniversary, we were upgraded to a suite on the 1oth floor. Very nice 2 room king with great skyline views. The hotel also sent up a great cheese and fruit platter and a bottle of champagne! That was very good service in our opinion!!!
Like the other reviews, comfy beds, great amenities, etc...no worries.
The only glitch was that the room was warm...maybe because of the repressive heat going on since this room is in the front of the building...
My wife and I had a little different view of the pool. Certainly nice. Certainly a nice view too. But we both felt it lacked the ambiance and perhaps charm that the hotel itself has. There just seemed to be something missing - perhaps a better bar service or trees, jazz music or something. But to be sure, at the end of the day it was a pool that was well maintained with PLENTY of fresh towels and complimentary water.
I would like to have seen a lessor priced option for dining. We have eaten at the Shula's steakhouse before and weren't overly impressed for the cost...good...fine...but we prefer other places - and the little sports bar got food from Shula's...You CAN walk to Maggiano's, Mitchell's Fish House, Palm. Or a very short taxi can take you to a huge assortment of places...You also can walk to the Walgreens which carries beer and wine. A full liquor store is next door to the Walgreens.
I also will give a shout out to the entire staff...This was the weekend after the RNC and those folks worked almost 24 hours. Would not have known it. Everyone was very, very nice and pleasant.
Like I said, this was our second stay at this location. We are not priority or anything here, so internet would have cost us 13 bucks a day (Being a Hilton Diamond, I had forgotten that there was a charge!) and I for one am beginning to look at these types of charges as deal killers, but since I didn't use it. I chose valet, and knew it was 18 a day...
Having said all this, we will be back again I am sure.
By the way for a business venue , this would be killer...no too good for the kids...
