We stayed at the BW Westshore one night in Tampa before a cruise.

Our first impression of the hotel is that it appears to be older, however the reception area has been renovated and looks quite nice.

Our impression during the walk to our room was quite different! The hotel has 8 or 9 floors and the hallways on the floors are open to the outdoors. We had to walk through a common area and down a hallway to get to our room. The common area and hallways had not been upgraded in several years and can only be described as 'dingy'. When we saw the boarded up hotel room window three doors down from ours, we started questioning the safety of the hotel. It didn't help when the door to our room would not easily open and we had to kick it in to dislodge where it was stuck.

Our room was clean and seemed to be somewhat upgraded. Bed was comfortable.

Other than our initial scary impression, the rest of our stay was enjoyable. Great location - near the airport and the International Plaza and Bay Street shopping.

We stayed in the Best Western last week while we were looking for apartments in the Tampa area. The staff was helpful and friendly, and they let us check in early so that we could leave our bags in our room!

The exterior of the hotel isn't that good-looking, but the interior is very nice and clean. The pool and fitness room looked well-kept. The adjoining restaurant had good food, and your hotel key card gets you a 15% discount.

If you're going to spend the majority of your time in Clearwater, this isn't the hotel for you - it's not the best for vacationers. I would recommend it for business travelers, as it is neat, clean, safe, and close to a lot of prominent businesses in the area. It's in a good spot between Busch Gardens, the airport, and Clearwater Beach, though, if you plan on seeing more than one thing.

The rooms were clean and felt comfortable. The hotel is set up with rooms that interior-facing windows and outdoor corridors, which really makes you feel like you're in Florida. The interior courtyard is very pleasant.

It's certainly not luxurious, but it's very clean, nice-looking, and affordable!

I stayed here for a conference that was being held onsite. After first reading the reviews, I seriously debated staying at another hotel close buy. But I figured I'd give it a shot.
The shuttle service from the airport was a blessing. Check in was a little rough. I dragged my bags up to the room only to find out they gave me a Non-Smoking room. Had to go back downstairs with bags in hand to change room.
The room was clean, ample towels every day. The resturant had great food and reasonable prices. All in all, would stay there again if I needed to!

After reading all the negative reviews on this location, I was very scared to stay there. As it turns out, the hotel was fine. The room was clean, the shower was nice & clean and not one bug to be found. The lobby was very nice and so were the staff. They also provide a free shuttle from the airport which was very helpful. All you do is use the courtesy phone in the airport after you've picked up your bags and they'll come get you. We stayed for one night before taking a cruise and would totally reccommend it. The onsite restaurant was phenominal! We had the two for one margaritas and shared the prime rib - which ended up being the most delicious prime rib either my husband or I have ever eaten. I also accidentally left a shirt in the room and when I called upon returning from our cruise the shirt had been saved at the hotel for us - so absolutely no complaints here!
