“OK for a good night sleep.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2012

Don't expect too much, but it was the cheapest hotel in Tampa Airport area I could find on expedia.com and hotels.com. Check-in was smooth and the staff were pleasant. Rooms were spacious with TV, coffee-machine, safe, and other standard hotel stuff. The rooms were clean, but worn down. Contintental breakfast was included in the room rate, but was a big joke. Selection extremely poor. Did not even bother to taste. Beds were comfortable and the atmosphere was quiet. I had a good night sleep, and checked out the next morning. I think budget travellers would find this hotel as a good alternative.

Just lately my reviews seem to be moaning about the odd point, but sorry, this hotel gets first prize.
Firstly I must stress that the staff are wonderful and the adjoining bar and cafe (I wouldn't call it a restaurant) is great and well priced. A large gin and tonic was $7 and very much needed when staying here.
Secondly, as in my review title 'I thought I knew better' and how wrong was I?
I am writing this in my room as I cannot wait to review this later because, unfortunately, there is a long list of things that I think need attention. So here I go.......
I have kept my shoes on as the carpet is filthy with marks all over it.
Around the entrance door is rust, probably from the a/c unit next to it with its water running all over the outside walkway, but it does work. I wonder if the filters are changed or cleaned regularly, as they should be?
The chairs and table are tatty as are the nightstands.
The beds seem old and well used and the linen, although appearing clean is not ironed and very crumpled. I shall wear my PJs even though it is warm tonight.
The walls appear dirty but maybe they are just marked with age.
There is an electric cable to the bedside lights and radio laid, not under the bed but at the back of the mattress by the headboard. Dangerous?
The ceiling light in the bathroom is full of flies.
I am not bothered about the television but it is very old.
Now the good news.......
The bathroom is clean with no dirt or hairs around.
The cleaner seems to have done a good job considering the state of the room.
The location of the room is looking over the courtyard and very pleasant.
The wifi internet works, albeit a little slowly.
I requested a quiet room and they were happy to oblige.
It doesn't smell that someone has smoked in here before.
Am I expecting too much for the price? I don't think so. Just a lick of paint would cheer the old and tired place up. And a decent carpet cleaner wouldn't cost too much either. Even a Rug Doctor from Home Depot would do the job!
Come on, Ramada. You can do better. I may be a mystery guest - who knows?

Room Tip: If you must stay here, the courtyard rooms are best but on the upper floors away from the noise of t...

Booked this to be near the airport at a low price. Achieved both but it's unlikely I would stay there again. Hotel was lovely outside, room was clean, bed was comfortable, front desk staff pleasant and speedy. But airport noise was a nuisance, a/c unit loud, Hurricane Grill food smelled and tasted greasy, food really was not edible, breakfast was minimal continental. If you have a car, there are plenty of restaurants nearby to get good meals. Front of hotel is deceiving, the rooms, interior, and outside entrances all need upgrading and remodeling. This time I got exactly what I paid for, low grade hotel at a low price.

Room was not clean, front desk was terrible to deal with. The pool was not heated, and fealt like they pumped it from an underground arctic aquifer only moments ago. I've travel for business and pleasure and have experienced far greater stays in $48 rooms that were better.
Even Key West has heated pools, as well as the hotel across the street (I checked). The front desk clerks (multiple) were rude, condescending and treated everyone like cattle. I heard them making rude comments under their breath.
It was like staying in a $32 a night room by the train station. If you have kids stay away from this one especially. The adjacent restaurant runs scams on "2 for 1" drink specials that are half the size and twice the price. Ramada needs to revoke their franchise on this one.
They apparently allow pets since someone let "Farfy" bark all day and night. There are missing tiles in the floors that have chewing gum that looked like the Pharohs chewed it themselves embedded in the blank space.
The internet (which I'm hopefully using to post this review while I stay) goes down every few minutes so that you have to log in all over again to review your flight information or check email.

Stay anywhere else than here.

Room Tip: The best room to have at the Ramada West side is directly across the street at the Marriot. Not muc...

Although we strive to be the best in our class here at the Ramada Westshore Tampa, it is obvious we did not live up to your expectations. Many pools in Fla are not heated due to our climate being warm. Outr front office staff are some of the best in the area and always get excellent marks from our guests.
I am not sure what you expect when staying in hotels, but we will take your comments as constructive and adress each one.
Please give us another opportunity to take care of you here at the Ramada Westshore Tampa.

This motel is a good choice in tampa when you arrive late and leave early. They use a luxury shuttle to pick you up and drop you off. Check in sets a new speed record consisting of handing you a key. The free internet is opposite the check in counter and free breakfast is good. Everything else about the hotel is standard American two star but they shine where it counts

I was trying to think of my last stay in a ramada and couldn't come up with one since college. That said, had a conference and was coming in from out of town and usual spot was insanely expensive, so I decided to give a shot. Lobby is nice - was obviously nearly renovated. They provide a free continental breakfast which wasn't elaborate, but not bad. The room was clean and bed comfortable. Bathroom clean and everything was in working order. Soap, shampoo conditioner and moisturizer provided was nice - better than some other "nicer" chains. Pool area looked decent, free parking, and wifi was free as well. Bed was nice, clean, and more comfortable than I would have thought. I was very pleasantly surprised.
Is close to I-275, and has a hurricane wings bar and grill right in the lobby. Nice place.
Meeting rooms were ok. They have a pretty serious leak problem in the ceiling of the meeting rooms, which from the stains - looked to have been an ongoing problem.
If just looking for a room,, nice place, if booking a meeting space, I wouldn't recommend.

Near 275

Room Tip: I was in 203 - all, rooms face outside - liked my room.

The shuttle driver was rude, late, and lied to people he had not picked up on the first pass through the airport, saying he would be back around to get them, and then went on to the hotel instead. The check-in clerk could not find the reservation of the woman in front of me in line. The room was very shabby and there were hairs in the bathtub. I'll never stay there again

Room Tip: don't stay there
