It is a great pleasure to recommend this excellent hotel. From arrival to departure, the experience was simply a great pleasure. The staff was outstanding, beginning with the shuttle drivers and continuing on and on. Especially noteworthy were the folks at the sports bar, where the service and food were fantastic!

We stayed at this hotel while in Tampa visiting a university for my daughter. I am Hilton Diamond and have stayed at Hiltons, Hamptons, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites all over the world. I have never been treated this badly ANYWHERE. It started at checkin. Since I was traveling with my wife and daughter i requested an upgrade to a larger room. The lady at the desk acted as if i had requested a penthouse suite. It is my understanding that if the rooms are available a diamond member will be upgraded. she obviously was not aware of this policy. She told me she would upgrade me for $50. When i asked what the difference in the rooms would be she said..$50. I asked again, what is the difference between the two rooms and she said "one is bigger". I gave up and took the room i was given. We then went over to the sports bar to grab a quick lunch. Since we were the only ones in the place we thought it would be quick. We waited and waited and waited. We did get to watch two of the wait staff "making out" by the counter. This went of for quite some time. Finally i saw our waitress and asked her if we would get food soon. she rolled her eyes and told me that "it takes time". She then went back to the service area obviously annoyed at us and in a few minutes a different waitress brings us our food which at this time is cold. the cheese on the nachos was cold and had formed a crust on it. When i told the waitress we would not accept this she said "i don't care" and walked off.
then we go to our room. Regular room, two double beds. AC was very noisy. One of the beds obviously did not get clean sheets before we got in the room.
I did request and was granted a late checkout. housekeeping knocked on the door (once then barged in) at 8:30am the next morning. my wife told her we had a late checkout and she demanded to know exactly what time we would be leaving.
this place is like staying in the twilight zone. i did leave a message for the manager and have yet to receive a call back.

While the building may not be new and sleek like some hotels,the room was well appointed and clean. The staff was very friendly and welcoming,especially at Players Sports Bar which was unexpectedly happening for a hotel bar-friendly bartenders and good food.

It was a nice place to be, and i'd go back.

nice room, free internet, central location, near airport, shopping and about 7 minutes from downtown, next to the highway and causeway, good gym the only negative is the loud air conditioner.
i would highly recommend the hotel

Our room was on the first floor and the noise from the expressway was loud so we did not get much sleep. The coffee pot did not work and the shower ran all night. The air condition was also very noisey. Would not ever stay there again. The price was very expensive for such a low classs room. The front desk lady was not friendly at all. .

In reviewing our occupancy, it appears that we had other rooms available on October 18th, although our guest report logs do not show that this information was communicated to our team. We have a detailed preventative maintenance routine and an inspection process prior to rooms being made available to our guests. When we first checked in, the front desk was very helpfull and quick. Got to our room, the floor looked like it hasn't been vaccuumed in 2 weeks, the bathroom was dirty. decide to get some drinks and find out there is no fridge or microwave in the room. They charge for both. Finally bring in the luggage, the rooms are so small you can barely walk around with all your stuff in here. Decide to go and get some ice, ice machine is broken, had to go to a different floor. On the lighter side, the hot tub and pool were great, out 8 yr old had a great time. Air conditioner was soo loud we couldn't get a good nights sleep. Have to spend 1 more night, but this will be the last time I stay at this double tree.

Thank you for the positive ratings in value and location, as well as, the positive feedback regarding our front office team and pool area. At an average of 370 square feet, our rooms are very comparable (or slightly larger) than the other full service hotels in the market. We are careful not to advertise the availability of microwaves or a refrigerator in the room, although, we do have a microwave available 24 hours a day on a complimentary basis in our Guest Pantry. Additionally, we maintain a large number of refrigerators that can be delivered to guest rooms upon request and our Doubletree offers 17 luxurious suites that include a refrigerator and microwave. Often, these suites are available at a small, upgrade fee.

We booked this hotel "in the blind" through an on-line booking company so we had no idea what we were getting at the time of booking. It turned out to be acceptable for a quick overnight stay (that's all we wanted) but was by no means high end or luxuary hotel... the exterior and interior was dated and the rooms, while clean and the bed comfortable were relatively small and basic. There was a small patio off the room albeit the patio doors were hard to open. In room wireless was also available for an added fee. It was conveniently located only a short drive from the TAMPA airport and the rental car company which was a plus for us not to have a long drive upon arrival. There was also shopping close by and access to freeway was closeby. There was an outside patio deck complete with pool and hottub on site that seemed cozy and sheltered and would be a plus for longer stays (although we didn't actually use it). As noted there wasn't anything outstanding about the hotel but at the same time it met our needs for an overnight stay that was close to the airport.
