“Perfect Place to Stay for Early AM flight”

After spending a week at the beach, we had an early morning flight out of Tampa. Picking the Marriott Tampa Airport was the perfect answer! I dropped off the family and luggage at the hotel and then returned the rental car. The quick walk from the rental car drop off to the hotel's front desk was easy!

We checked into our spacious room, which was spotless, and then took the kids down to the pool. At the pool area, they had nice lounge chairs, towels, a big hammock, table tennis and more. We ordered some beverages at the lobby restaurant and were able to enjoy them poolside.

For dinner, you can walk downstairs to the airport, where you have lots of choices, you could order room service or eat in the hotel restaurant.

Here's the best part about the hotel: Bell Service delivers your luggage to the airline's ticket counter. Schedule the pickup of your luggage and they'll load it on a cart and take it for you. Be sure and tip!

Next time we're in Tampa, we'll stay at the Marriott Tampa Airport again.

We stayed here for one Saturday night in March 2013. Our flight arrived at 12:30am and it was great to have the hotel IN the airport. Very convenient and easy to get to! The woman working at the front desk was extremely pleasant and helpful when we arrived. She gave us coupons for breakfast in the restaurant because the concierge lounge was not open on Sunday, since we have platinum status. Our room was on a high floor and overlooked the pool area. The room was a typical Marriott hotel room. There was an in room coffee maker, hair dryer, and iron. The only downside to our room was that the bathroom was quite small. The sink, toilet and shower (no tub) were all in one tiny room. The toilet was so close to the sink and counter that it was pretty much impossible to get up from the toilet with out bumping into the counter. We did not hear any airplanes until around 7am and that was minimal compared to other airport hotels we have stayed at. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant had all of the standard breakfast buffet staples - eggs, bacon, breads, bagels, sausage, fruit, cereals.

I've had the pleasure of staying at the Tampa Airport Marriott fairly frequently over the past five years. I quickly discovered that the responsiveness of their staff combined with world class accomodations makes them the best of the best of Marriott properities. The friendly and competent check-in at the front desk by professionals like Terraza or Saida is just the beginning of a wonderful stay. The recently renovated rooms are well appointed, spacious and despite the close proximity to the airport, are wonderfully quiet. If you are fortunate enough to visit the concierge lounge, you will find Margrit catering to her clients with the same loving care a mother provides to her children. I found the selection of food and beverages provided in the lounge to be outstanding! If you are driving, have no worries for the valet staff at the hotel will baby your vehicle like their own. Add to all this the convenient location to everything of importance in Tampa and you have the perfect place to stay for either business or pleasure, but I guarantee you'll have trouble knowing which of those you are enjoying!

Room Tip: Top floors provide the better view and those overlooking the pool are excellent!

I had a 7 AM flight out and this was the perfect place to stay. Could not hear any aircraft landing or take off. You have Restrrant, bar in the hotel and almost everything you can think of is just outside the entrance in the airport. When leaving in the morning bellmen help with my bags all the way to check-in counter. This is in and connected to the main councorse of the airport. What convenience. They have an outdoor patio for those who smoke and the swimming pool area is smoke free. If you are leaving on an early flight this fits either connecting or leaving, drop your rental car after you have checked-in and ther is no rushing to get to the airport in the morning.

The placement of the hotel within the airport means that the front desk & adjacent business services area appear as part of the terminal area itself. The front desk staff especially ms Tereza Peclinovska were so very helpful, when we recently had to rebook flights from Tampa to Chicago, in printing the booking & boarding cards that we immediately booked ourselves into a sister Marriot property at O'Hare that night.

Overall, I liked the placement of the hotel within the airport and easy access to car rental too. The hotel staff was pleasant and informative. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were decorated nicely. I have one issue, there was not an outlet in the room NEAR a mirror. In order to share the bathroom with my travel companions I leave the bathroom once I am done with my shower. I have other grooming needs that require a mirror but the mirror in the room did not have an outlet nearby. This was the most annoying thing to me.

We stayed at the hotel on the concierge level the night before an early morning flight and that was very convenient. We returned our rental car early and saved the price of an extra few hours which was great.

The hotel is very nice and clean. It is decorated very tastefully. The bathroom is nice, but extremely small! The toiletries are also very nice with everything you might need, including cotton balls, cotton swabs and make remover towelletes. There are coffee makers in the cabinet under the T.V.

We had a view of the runways, but there really wasn't much action out there. It was nice to look out the window and see some planes arrive.

All of the staff was friendly. Every staff memeber said "hello" even if they were just passing you in the hall.

The staff at the concierge lounge was very friendly and helpful, but the choices were minimal to say the least. There were veggies and dip, cheese and crackers and one choice of hot appetizers. There were several types of non-alcoholic beverages. Unlike some concierge lounges, you had to pay for alcoholic beverages. We did not pay extra for those, but I did see that the hostess did pur fairly generously. In the evening, they had one type of dessert and a couple of kinds of cookies. Breakfast was OK, but again very basic. Nothing overly spectacular, but convenient before an early morning flight.

We felt it was a little bit pricey for what it actually was, but I guess we're paying for convenience. Next time, I would forgo the extra price for the concierge service and just eat in the airport. I did notice there were a number of well-known restaurants and a Starbucks. Eating at a restaurant would have taken up some of the time. The hotel itself is fairly boring in the evening.
