This hotel has a great location. The food/restaurants were good. It is very pricey. The room was small and dissappointing in size. We requested a room with a view of Tampa Bay - we got a view of the highway. I would never stay here if we couldnt get the view as it is just not worth the money. It was almost impossible to get a cab despite begging for help from the hotel - it took almost 30 minutes before they relented and drove us in a hotel car.

My 3rd stay, excellent as always. Real concierge service, fine Italian restaurant, fine seafood restaurant, and great breakfast/lunch/dinner place to eat, bar/lounge area with piano player, valet service, free self-parking, they open doors for you, they remember your name, they cater to your every whim, 2 pools, 2 whirlpools, gigantic paintings, murals, expensive furniture, expensive everything, even the most menial staff members are trained to treat you with respect, bar at poolside and they'll bring you food and drinks to you by the pool, huge grounds, boardwalk/nature trail to walk along, great view of water and small beach area, they have a charter boat, we ate at Landry's which is right down Courtney Cambell Causeway, truly the best hotel in Tampa, the only hotel that can rival it is Hard Rock (also 4* but it's for a different crowd) and Renaissance (never stayed there, but heard it's on the lower end of 4* hotels), great big room, clean, minibar, great bathroom (marble), just go on and on and on. Quite expensive though, but it suits both business and leisure travel.

My wife and I stayed here March 13-14, 2005 and loved this hotel. It is extremely convenient - minutes from Tampa International Airport and right on the causeway which goes over to Clearwater and the Gulf beaches. Everything here is first class - including the property and the staff. Very nice health club with a quality weight machine, plenty of new cardio machines, a whirlpool and separate men's and womens saunas that work great. Two outdoor pools - the secluded one's a bit noisy due to the flight take-off path from TPA. Free parking, nice rooftop restaurant and bar as well as others on the first floor. All in all - you won't be disappointed here.

Superior service and a well maintained property define the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. I chose this location because my family and I would be arriving late in the evening and proximity to the airport was important. Knowing that the Hyatt was a business oriented hotal, I booked the first few days of our vacation there anyway. We eventually extended our stay by one day because we loved this property. Even though we traveled with children (8 and 12), we were sure to visit Armani's, the signature restaurant in the hotel. What a treat! Don't miss it and don't miss an opportunity to stay at the Hyatt if in Tampa.
