The Hyatt Regency is well positioned in downtown Tampa. It is within walking distance of the convention center, the St. Pete Times Forum and Channelside. The hotel is pleasant but certainly showing signs of age. As has been noted in previous reviews, hallway carpets are stained, elevators break down, bathrooms seem dated and during busy times, the staff seems overwhelmed. My biggest complaint has to do with the quality of housekeeping. During a four day stay, the water glasses in our room were never changed, and the beds were only "smoothed over", never completely made -- the bottom sheets were never adjusted. Certainly one expects more from Hyatt, and while several things did not meet our expectations, our stay was OK, but just OK. There are better choices, the Marriott and Embassy Suites, in downtown Tampa.
