I stayed there a little over a year ago and it was not close to what you would expect in a Hyatt. I was horribly disappointed. Now that the remodeling is completed it is back to what a Hyatt should be. The rooms are beautifully decorated, comfortable, and well equipped with flatscreen TV's in-room coffee makers and delicious coffee, wonderful toiletries, fluffy and absorbant ew towels, elegant curtains and sheers, beautiful lighting, high-water preasure showers, clean and spacious bathrooms, superb toilets, working alarm clocks, executive desks for your laptop, and superb beds. I am sure I missed something but it was in one word, Hyatt. Just what it should be and what you would expect. I also ate at the restaurant both nights and it was superb. The service was pleasant, friendly, and helpful and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. I ate once downstairs and once in the room and both were excellent in terms of quality of food, presentation and service. I hosted guests one evening in their restaurant and ordered a bottle of the house wine and it was superb and perfectly priced. It was a Mondavi and it was delicious. Check-in and check-out were equally smooth and the desk attendants were extremly professional, elegant, well-groomed, helpful and polite. I ow know that the Tampa Hyatt Regency is back to what it should be. HIghly recommended. Oh, I forgot...the common areas are equally vbeautifully redone. They are elegant, plush, and create the right atmosphere for a pleasant stay.
