“Very good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

Our stay in your Quality Inn in Tampa Fla was a very good experience. We had to have our rental car back at the airport before 8:00a.m. so the closeness of the Airport was very important to us. The staff was very helpful in providing a map and verbal instruction to get to the airport. Also the proimity to the Catholic church was accross the street and we were there for Ash Wednesday.

We stayed here before and after our cruise. It was a nice location in a safe neighborhood. We flew in and were picked up quickly by the hotel shuttle service. The shuttle to the port cost $8 per person and dropped us off in front of the door where our luggage was picked up. Great service and the drivers were very informative. After the cruise we rented a car from Enterprise and were picked up by Enterprise at the port and then stayed here for 2 more nights with free parking. As others have said the interior is dated but so am I so this was OK. The bed was comfoprtable. The only drawback was that the edge of the curtain didn’t cover the window well at night and the light outside the window shone in. We used masking tape to remedy this and Velcro strips could probably fix the problem. The room included a refrigerator and microwave which was nice even though we didn’t need it. It was good to be able to get a first floor room on the second stay and park our car right outside making getting our luggage in the room easy. During our first stay we were upstairs and although there was an elevator we had to navigate a few stairs after getting off the elevator with our luggage. There was a very nice restaurant in the next parking lot, GrillSmith (check on Google street view to see it) About 2 blocks away was a Publix where we bought our bottles of wine for the cruise. When I broke one of them Valerie who was at the desk directed me to the Fresh Market just through the back parking lot. The staff were all helpful especially Joey and Valerie who were very friendly. There was a small but nice outdoor heated pool. The free breakfast was good but I would agree with someone who said the area was small and crowded. All in all it was a good value and I would recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Take first floor especially if you have a car.

I wanted a clean, reasonably priced room for two nights near the Tampa Airport and the Yankees spring training facility. This Quality Inn was exactly what I needed. The staff was efficient, friendly and very helpful. Location was perfect and the complimentary breakfast was more than adequate. There were also plenty of good restaurants in the area.

Booked this place believing it was near the airport (it isn't even close) and for the shuttle from the airport and to the cruise port. Other than the deceptive name, we were quite delighted in our 1-night stay. A shopping center is only a 5-minute walk from the front door.

The place is an old, dated 60's Motor Hotel with exterior entrances that has been maintained quite well. Bed was comfortable, TV was nice, toilet was of the heavy-duty commercial variety with no tank!? never have seen that in a hotel.

Heat/cooling was a single wall-mounted unit that kept the place both warm enough at night and cool enough in the day. The place has been painted quite a few times, and the only complaint was a hair on the tub.

Environment was quite, staff were helpful, shuttle to the pier was reasonable, and right on time, free breakfast was decent. Would certainly stay again!

We needed a hotel for one night, close to the airport and with a shuttle. Some of the other airport hotels were very expensive - not worth it for just one night. We were very pleased with this hotel even though it is not new and not particularly glamorous. The young lady at the front desk was VERY helpful as we checked in and asked her quite a few questions. We went to the airport and dropped off our rental and caught the hotel shuttle back to the hotel. The room , bathroom and bed were very clean and the TV was a large flat screen. The only problem was that we couldn't get any cold water out of the shower which meant that our showers were very hot indeed. We caught the 6 a.m. shuttle the next morning. Unfortunately we did not have time to eat breakfast which started at 6 a..m. but it looked very nice.

We ate dinner at the restaurant, the Grillsmith, in the shopping center right next door. It was excellent and very convenient to the hotel.

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room - not that easy to haul suitcases up to the second floor.

My husband recently had a work event that he had to attend in Tampa. I decided to join in with the kids at the last minute so we had no hotel reservations having planned for him to be driving up and back in the same day. While on my drive up there I looked for a reasonably priced hotel close to where he was bit most everything was sold out because it was valentines day. My sister in law found a room at the best western earlier in the week but they were booked as well so I ended up at the Quality Inn just one street over. Pulling in is terrible as it's Avery busy street! Going through the strip mall next-door made it easier to get to. The boy at the front desk pleasantly greeted us upon arrival. We booked through Expedia so check in took all of 5 minutes. Upon entry of our room you could smell somewhat of an odor in the air even though the room was actually very clean. This is most likely due to the hotels she in general as the building itself shows it's age. There was a decent sized flat screen and a killer a/c, a bit loud, but it came with a remote so it could be adjusted without having to get out of bed because let me tell you, it was cold. The one thing that made me laugh was the toilet. Yes the toilet. It had no tank and it flushed like a public restroom toilet. I have to say that was a first for me in any hotel I've seen bad ones. Beds were comfortable and sheets were clean and smelled good. Pillows however were too soft and too small. They just disappeared inter your head. It was. Ice and quiet all night. The workout room was pretty big and decent as well. The pool was reeeally small but heated. The breakfast area was also very small but they had a nice variety of do it yourself waffles, cereal, egg patties, sausage patties, toast, baby bagels (fits egg and sausage patty perfect!!) coffee, OJ, Apple juice, fruits, mini doughnuts. The employee working that morning was so pleasant it just put a smile on your face automatically. She was non stop back and forth making sure things were stocked up as people came down. All in all the stay served its purpose. A warning though ... There are 3 strip joints in a row just 2-5 minutes down the road, that's all I have to say about the neighborhood as I'm sure it's obvious that it's not too nice. There is however a huge mall about 10 min away with some restaurants like The Pub, Brio's, then bars like Blue Martini and Bar Louie. It's a higher end mall with stores like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Tiffany's, Armani etc. About 10 min from the state fairgrounds and 5 min from the Bucks Stadium as well.

Front desk staff were great, shuttle driver was exceptional, rooms clean. Property does show its age but rooms were clean and comfortable. Great to have an exercise room although card access for the door to the fitness room didn't work properly. Had to make several tries to open it with the card. Short commute to the Florida aquarium.

Room Tip: Good place for the money.
