My family stayed at this hotel and shortly after checking in we got stuck in the outside elevator in the Florida heat topping 100 degrees. We called from the phone in the elevator and the front desk clerk said she'd call maintenance. After several minutes, we had to call back and the other person at the front desk didn't know that we were stuck (the two didn't communicate). We had to call 911 from the elevator (they didn't) because the maintenance man didn't know how to fix the elevator. While on the phone with the front desk person saying we needed immediate attention because it was very difficult to breathe and one person (there was 8 of us inside) was very claustraphobic, SHE HUNG UP ON ME. This was our only like to the outside. No one, except the maintence man, was helping. Finally after 25 minutes, my brother-in-law that was in the elevator had to work to get the door open and we had to be lifted out over 4 feet of concrete as we were stuck between floors. The front desk person at first said she didn't hang up on me, but then later admitted to it because she was new and didn't know the emergency proceedures. The General Manager was incredibly rude, never saying he's sorry or acknowledging the mishap or expressing concern for my family even after the paramedics arrived. We had property damaged and his only response was "that insurance will cover it." We have heard nothing from them regarding this. He never mentioned giving us the one night room for free until we had to say we're not paying. The hotel was dirty, it smelled bad and the breakfast was uneatable. Save your money and health of your family. The GM admitted his staff wasn't trained on emergency protocol. They could care less about their guests.
