“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Take plenty of water when you visit! We went in June and below deck was stifling but there are a few fans dotted about and they make a very welcome. I visited this attraction with other adults and teenagers. It may not be suitable for families with young children or anyone who has difficulty with stairs.
The tours are self guided and there are members of staff if you have any questions. The ship appears to be left in its original state and visitors can wander around looking in all the cabins, kitchen, showers, workshop etc. It feels very authentic and is part of our history. On deck there are some good views of the harbour and great photo opportunities. We spent over an hour wandering around. The shop is small and we did not really look at what they had for sale.
Our visit was as a result of a Groupon offer. The Florida Aquarium is right next door and if you are feeling fit you can probably do both in one day. It is lovely and cool in the aquarium so probably best to visit there after the ship.

“Best value of the trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

$10 admission is a real deal. Amazing to be able to climb and stroll through history. Ship still sails, so a little messy in parts. Wear good stable walking shoes. Docents around to answer questions, but pretty much leave you alone. Great for picture taking and watching commercial river/bay traffic.Would really like to sail on her someday....maybe next time.

“Interesting naval ship!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Really enjoyed touring the ship, especially since it is in running condition. We may try to go back in the fall and take a day cruise on it....very unique opportunity.

If you go in the summer.....WATER! WATER! WATER!! Florida can be horribly hot.

“Go See!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013 via mobile

This is worth the stop. We did the self guided tour & it took us about 2 hours. You can go at your own pace & really look things over. My teenage son loved it. It is very interesting to see how they lived. You can imagine the sailors aboard the ship. We also took some nice snap shots. Glad we did not miss this!

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

This shipment is well worth a visit. It is hot this time of year but not unbearable. It does however make you admire the sailors who have served aboard. Easy to drift back in time and imagine the brave men doing what needed to be done in the Pacific.
