“Nice property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2008

Stayed at Embassy in Tampa for a conference across the street at the Marriott. Great location and convenient. Trolley right outside to take you anywhere. Wonderful service. Breakfast terrific- no lines. Drinks in the evening a plus. Room service was quick and good. High speed internet in room for a fee. Rooms are smaller than other Embassy locations I have stayed- corner rooms a little bigger. My room was on 3rd floor and view from window was the back of a building- couldnt even stretch to see what the weather was like in the am. That was my biggest complaint.

Excellent location close to all downtown amenitites, cruise port, convention center. Excellent rooms (Suites) with all amenitites. Great breakfast and very nice although small pool. Great service at reception and room. Can't fault it. Valet parking was $19 including tax per night but that is standard rate in any city hotel.

Great hotel if attending conference at the Convention Center. Hotel very clean, staff friendly. Pool is small and could use a little more ambiance, but the water temp was perfect and it was clean. Evening cocktails are a plus, although the only food served is tortilla chips and pretzels. Restaurant small and plain. We ate at the two restaurants at the Marriott Waterside, both excellent. We found two great little restaurants within walking distance - across the channel from the Marriott in the condo village.

This hotel warmed up after being there a couple of days. the front desk staff are friendly but very busy. The worst part of the hotel is the small so called "double beds" more like twin beds. Noise from the lobby tends to carry up the open atrium. Request Kingsize beds.

Stayed at the Tampa Embassy Suites in Dec. 2007 for 3 days before our cruise I was there with my husband and three children . Hotel was Very close to cruise terrminal. wich was a plus. and If you are into Hockey ,You are maybe a block away from St Petes Times Forum so we took the kids to a Tampa Lightening game. Hotel was very clean and the the staff was very pleasant the managers reception at night was very good and the breakfast very good and when traveling with three picky children it was nice than they all had eaten allot for breakfast they enjoyed everything. The children enjoyed the 3rd floor outdoor roof top pool. I would definently stay at this hotel again plus i would recommened this hotel. It is a great hotel for all ages.

  • Liked — Room size , close to attractions and cruise terrminal

We enjoyed our stay at the Embassy Suites. The staff was extra friendly and helpful. The room was nice and housekeeping did a great job. The free breakfast was very good with a wide selection of hot and cold items. We also enjoyed the free drinks in the evenings. Pool area was very nice. The parking was very expensive here. I would have liked a fancier restaurant on site, the food was adequate though.

We stayed three nights on the 9th floor while exploring tampa/st pete's and found the hotel a good base for this. It's a very new hotel and therefore in good condition. Comfy bed, very clean spacious rooms. Food options were somewhat limited in the evening, but the morning free breakfast was one of the best buffets we have seen in a hotel of this grade. Happy hour FREE drinks every evening between 5-7 and reasonable bar prices outside of this.

We were concerned about valet parking; yes it is expensive, but it is primarily a conference/business hotel. It was $18+ dollars per 24 hours to park, but the hotel was cheap anyway. Staff were all very nice.

Only drawback; the design of the hotel means that everyone's lounge rooms look out onto the atrium with the lobby and bar in the centre on the ground floor (Bedrooms have external views). This means that bar sound doesn't travel to the bedroom. It did travel to the lounge room though, so when there was a big crowd in the bar we couldn't relax and watch tv etc for the noise, which can go on late when there are functions.
