We were in Tampa from Saturday, June 27, 2009 until Saturday, July 4, 2009. This review is being written while it is fresh on my mind.
Upon arrival late evening Saturday, everything appeared to be really nice for the value. When we opened the door, it appeared to be what we had seen on the Internet Virtual Tour; however, we were met at the door with a couple of bugs; tried to explain to teen-age daughter this was not a big deal, we killed it and the next one in the bathroom (probably water bugs) since you are in a "bay" area.
Pros: Friendly Staff
Gated Security
Roomy for two teenagers
Two bathrooms (much needed)
Cons: Noisy, noisy, so much so that my teenagers complained, as well as my husband
Not sure if the doorlock was the safest or securest, but since we were in a gated
community (accessible only with guest key), we decided this was not a big issue
I am usually the complainer. After day two and a complaint from the children, we called Front Desk and complained about the noise level; they sent Security to investigate noise level, not once, but twice (within the same nigt). We were told that the people above us said that they were not making any noise.
When you lay down and cannot rest because of the noise level, it is extremely frustrating. We requested a room change to one of the top floors and was told that this would not be possible,.
We stayed because we had already paid for this through a Travelocity Booking Package. You can believe that I have already notified Travelocity of my dissatisfaction with the noise level.
If I had to stay at this hotel again, I would only stay with a request that I be on the top floor (third floor). I would rather drag seven bags of luggage upstairs than to have 7 nights of sleeplessness.
