We recently visited the Laughing Cat during a short stay in Tampa. The meal and experience was exceptional. We visited late on a midweek evening and we almost had the place to ourself. The owner and staff were very accomodating. We had the funghi trifolati appetizer (mushrooms, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts in a garlic wine sauce). Entrees were both excellent. We had gnocchi and a chicken dish (chicken Yolanda, chicken breast stuffed with sausage, mozarella, and red peppers, in a sherry wine sauce) and the huge portions left several more meals. They also have a fairly reasonable although small wine list. We passed on desert. This is real authentic Italian cuisine done right, in a nice intimate setting and at an incredible value.
