Mimi's is a chain which originated on the west coast of the U.S. and the first time I visited here I felt like I was in a Marie Calendar's restaurant in California. The decor is different but it has that "healthy food" ambiance typical of Calendar's.
The overall decor is French; the music is mellow (Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc.); and the food includes a wide range from pot roast to pot pies, to burgers to a limited number of Mexican dishes.
They have speciality muffins which are delicious.
Breakfast is always available and portions are generous.
The food has distinctive taste. It's doesn't taste like "chain restaurant" food.
Mimi's is busy and it is not unusual to have to wait for a table.
