Four adults dined last week - we had early reservations at 5:30 so we nearly had the place to ourselves. The exterior is quite attractive. We chose to sit up in the balcony area, which was charming.
The staff is OUTSTANDING! They were consistantly polite, attentive and pleasant.
For appetizers we ordered calamari and eggplant bannano - both were excellent. (I wanted to order the Fra Diavolo which another reviewer raved about., but it's only available at certain times of the year, so call ahead) Mixed drinks and wine were very good.
Main course - our orders were: 1) Bucatini Bolognese - excellent; 2) Veal Lasagna - tasteless, bland and boring; 3) Chicken Tortelloni - okay but not great; and 4) a special of the day salad that was entirely unappetizing. Maybe we should have gone with pizza - although my Bucatini Bolognese was just delicious, no one else really cared for their main dish. Because our wait staff was so attentive I feel that most of the blame for a bad main dish review is on the shoulders of my fellow diners - they should have spoken up, and I'm sure other choices would have been offered.
For dessert we split two orders of creme brulee. They were quite a generous size so they were perfect to split, and they were the best creme brulee any of us had ever had.
I'd definitely give it another go, but it wasn't consistantly excellent as I had expected.
