“Excellent but noisy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

If u want a romantic meal don't go here as they have a nightly show it's very noisy and dark. Even sitting in them squashed courtyard it was noisy. Food consistently good especially the salad. Waiter very busy so service a little slow. Sangria delicious made tableside.
Surroundings original.

“Transported to Cuba”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

I just happened to come across The Columbia Restaurant at the Tampa International Airport and what a delightful surprise! The attention to detail in the decor is incredible and I actually forgot I was at the airport. I took the advise of staff and had their "The Original 1905 Salad." It was fresh and delicious! It was a perfect pre-flight lunch. While I didn't have their sangria, it looked tasty and refreshing and something I'll return for to try.

“Great food, great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

The food alone is reason to come (and I'm a spoiled NYC food enthusiast!). The service is second to none with real old-world class. They run at a leisurely pace, but you wouldn't know it. Defintately book a table for the flamenco show (but bring earplugs). I never thought I'd rave about a salad but the 1902 salad (date?) was simply terrific. Loved the table-side made white sangria. To top it all off, my daughter left a kid's necklace on the table and they were kind enough to mail it back to us in NY. We will go here every time we're in the Tampa bay area.

“Terrific food. Service not up to what it should be”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

Arrived to the beautiful restaurant and was excited to dine there. Unfortunately the very young person in charge up front has never had a lesson in customer service. she was frankly rude and had no tact. But once we were ensconced in the bar, we knew we were in the right place. from an architectural standpoint, it's a lovely restaurant, but when the sangria came -- heaven. very nice bartender. we were offered a table in the bar or main restaurant and chose the bar. our waitress was very nice but a bit frazlled. for example, brought us the bread immediately but took 10 minutes for butter so she brought fresh bread and butter. i ordered the veal after a long discussion with her, 10 minutes later, oh we are out of veal. but the ropa vieja was terrific. would i go again, oh yes, but not if i wanted to impress anyone.
