“Wonderful old theater”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

We love this place. As members, we get into the movies for anywhere from $6-$8 which is cheaper than any place in town. Plus you get the beautiful décor and ambiance of the first building in Tampa to have air conditioning.

“What a lovely Theater! I love the history!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

This was such a beautiful theater. Rich in history! Built in the early 1920's. How beautiful & they have kept it's original charm!
I went there to see Joan Baez. It was just so fitting for her charm & voice as well. I would go back to this venue anytime!

“Like stepping back into the 1920’s and they serve booze!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

Absolutely charming! A gem not to be missed in downtown and the best part…they serve wine and beer. Take your camera as you will want to take a few shots of the interior (the bathrooms are super cute). A great place where you can dress up if you like! Be sure to check their schedule as they often time play older movies! Don’t miss out on the special events!

“What a gem!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Tampa Theater is a restored 1920's movie palace. What a beautiful, ornate gem! It shows classic and "art house" films in a stunning theater that is made to look like an old spanish courtyard, complete with twinkling stars overhead on the ceiling. The lobby and balconies and even restrooms are a treat to explore and tour, so make sure you get there early for a film to have a look around. I do have to say - and my reason for 4 stars instead of 5 - the seats are cramped, not much leg room. A tall, 6 foot person like me has a hard time sitting through an entire movie. The balcony seems to have a little more seat space than the main floor.
