“love those manatees”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2012

This is a great place to see the manatees. It is free and they have nice deck system to walk on and see the manatees in the river by the power plant. You also see lots of fish, birds, and walk through the mangroves. There is a snack bar and also a gift shop along with an educational room. You can spend 10 minutes or hours it all depends on how much time you have but I felt it was worth the drive out of the way to see these magnificent creatures.

“Manatees!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2012

Very interesting place. Warm water from power plant attracts manatees by the dozens, maybe hundreds. Nice walking area and good rest area for travelling from Orlando to St petersburg and Sanibel. See lots of manatees and fish. Very cool and nice to see utility companies giving back in whatever way.

“ITS GOOD FOR VIEWING”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

The viewing stand is well built and very well managed but is off the beaten path. In all honesty I would not waste the time that it takes to get there from Tampa, but it is good if you are in the area or are traveling south toward Fort Myers or points south

“A free attraction in Florida worth a visit.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2012

We stopped here on our way from Orlando to Saratoga Springs and were delighted to see manatees in their natural environment. There were seven in the river and one in the basin just next to the viewing platform. This is a great place to just enjoy nature. The little refreshment stand is a plus. Unfortunately we did not have time to view the exhibits inside the building or the butterfly garden.
