“A ride back in time.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

Pleasant, uncrowded and unrushed streetcar ride in a beautiful new-old streetcar. Doesn't go very far, nor are the stops particularly exciting, but the ride is everything.

“Terrible service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Bought four tickets to ride with my family to see fireworks in Channelside. Admittedly, it was a busy night with a lot of people having the same idea. My problem: don't sell tickets that can't be redeemed. The streetcar came very late, by which time a huge crowd (not line) had formed at the 2nd stop. When it did arrive, the same thing had happened at the first stop as the car was full. Waited another half an hour with no streetcar, and ended up not using it.

I wrote a letter of complaint about this situation to be informed that the TECO Streetcar does NOT have a customer service department. How the heck can any company, let alone one that offers public transport, not have a way of dealing with its customers??!!

Pathetic, expensive, and a real shame as the line could be run better.

“Not what we expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

The TECO streetcar runs such a short schedule, that it's not practical for navigating the city. The most interesting thing we discovered was that the benches are reversible -- you can ride facing forward or backward from just about any seat. Hopefully they'll continue to expand the streetcars -- it could bring some more charm to Tampa. Right now, it's a novelty.

“Good choice for transportation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

We rode 2x from Marriott Waterside to Ybor City. $5 to ride all day.
Good clean transportation.
We figured we would have paid at least $5 to park - so it was a good deal.

“Streetcars are fun, needs more coverage”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013 via mobile

The streetcars are great looking and well-maintained, but they don't start running until noon. Also, the lines they have are good but need to be extended even further throughout Tampa, Ybor City, and maybe even St. Petersburg. System for purchasing tickets was easy to use and priced okay. Doesn't appear to be used by locals, which would be increased by expanding the lines and hours of operation. All that said, it was a good experience and a great way to see part of Tampa and the river/channel area.
