My family had an outstanding experience at Ella's.The decor is quirky and funky. The food is a little pricey for comfort food, but the quality is exceptional. We tried two of their Kentucky Derby Specials. The pear, bacon, and brie burger was cooked to perfection and had a very unique flavor. The beef tenderloin, in their award winning mac & cheese, was delicious. I would love the recipe. We also had an order of the Tartar tacos. They were tasty and quite unique. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and had a great sense of humor. The outdoor space was large and looked like it would be perfect for a romantic dinner. It does get very crowded and they don't take reservations, so be prepared to wait. That being said, they had a very lively bar crowd and the time passed quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and can't wait to try the Soul Food Sunday.
