“Interesting but Small”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

Very nice background on the history of the Tampa area starting with the indigenous people and the Spanish explorers. Had a few interesting movies to watch, and exhibits on famous people from the area and sports teams accomplishments. Entrance fee of $12 a little high for size of the center. When we went, the third floor had a special exhibit on spies, traitors, and terrorists on loan from the Washington D.C. Spy Museum

“Nice location and interesting exhibits”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2012 via mobile

This museum has encompassed quite a few different aspects of Tampa Bay history, from topography, development, Seminole Wars, Cuban influence, sports history, to what it means to be a Florida Cracker. We went here for a few hours on a Sunday and enjoyed how lovely it was...the building was great! The Columbia Restaurant has a cafe the building which served up authentic Cuban food. Great to visit for an afternoon that is spent in the downtown/channelside area. Take the trolley while you're there!

“A real treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

We've been to the Tampa Bay History Center twice and both times have come away highly impressed. There are a couple 15 minute films that do a great job of portraying the arrival of the Spanish to the Tampa area and also the Seminole Indian Wars. Very informative. There are also exhibits and stories about the role of immigrants...Cuban, Spanish, Italian, etc. on the early history of the area. Would highly recommend it.
