“special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

This is a cut above most chain restaurants. Interesting menu, fun desserts, grilled flavors, and warm ambiance add up to one of the more pleasant restaurants in Tampa. The service is careful and upbeat. The prices are appropriate and the portions are not too big. While crowded the noise is not deafening. This is a winner from every angle.

“Fresh food, Excellent service, Great price point”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

Scott was our server and started the meal out excellently by explaining the menu, the decor and the seasonal items. Service was fantastic, food was outstanding. My wife had the snapper and I had the sirloin steak. The snapper was fresh, delicately seasoned, and presented perfectly. My sirloin was as fine as a filet, cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. Desert was so good that my wife, who never does desert, had two. Chris, the manager stopped by to check on us, a very professional touch. We will return very soon for dinner.

“Great ambiance , food is mediocre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

The restaurant is in a beautitful location and close to one of the better malls. It is always busy so they must be doing something right.... I just couldn't figure out what that was.
We shared the Spicy Chicken Chili, the organic mixed green salad and the All natural green chicken. I would recommend the salad- simple but the dressing gives it a bald flavor. The rest of the food was mediocre - nothing you can't get at your local neighborhood joint.
Their drink menu is creative and the bloody Orange martini is strong! The bar area is especially cozy when someone is playing the piano.

“Great food offset by poor service and management”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

Dined here a total of 3 times this year (2012), the first time for Valentine's day on the recommendation of a friend. Even with reservations on that first visit, the wait was very long (nearly an hour) and the service was poor. Obviously over-booked, there was no place to comfortably wait for our table. The hostess was walking around screaming out names. When we were finally seated, flowers that were supposed to be on the table were not there. The waiter didn't give us silverware, even after appetizers were on the table, until we asked for it. The only thing good about this first visit was the food, and it was fantastic. The chefs deserve a big pat on the back. Upon leaving, the valet lost our keys so we waited another 20 minutes for our vehicle.

After giving that visit a poor review on another site, the management contacted me and arranged for us to come in again and experience the "true Seasons 52", complimentary. We did, and this time we were treated like royalty (although the valet parking was still a mess). Quickly seated this time, we apparently were assigned the best server in the place. Of course, the food was exceptional once again.

Thinking that maybe Valentine's day was just a fluke, we returned for a third visit, this time just for a normal weekend date-night. This time we skipped the valet parking. Once again, even with reservations we waited over 1/2 hour to be seated. Most of that time was spent standing, as there is not adequate space to comfortably accommodate everyone waiting. A couple standing next to us was arguing about the same thing...asking why they keep coming back when their reservations are never honored. Once seated, the service was average, but by this time we were once again fairly annoyed. The food, as always, was outstanding.

The only conclusion I can draw here is that the management is poor, encouraging over-booking and thereby negating any benefit of a reservation. The hostesses, having to deal with the frustration of all those waiting well beyond their reservation time, tend to just avoid eye contact and simply walk around yelling out names. How about some additional, comfortable seating in the waiting area and a server or two walking around offering drinks/appetizers to all those waiting? Perhaps the managers here should visit a Bonefish or Capital Grille to see how customer service should be.

The food is absolutely wonderful and the chefs deserve praise. We will never dine here again because of the service, but we will miss the food. If you don't mind waiting a long time to be seated, and the potential for either good or bad service (it's a coin toss), the food will not disappoint.

“Nice for business”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Great food, always changing the menu. Been here several times and always happy to return. This restaurant was formerly a Steak 'n Ale, but owners renovated it and now it is light and airy, much like the food.
