“Trendy”

Cute little village atmosphere. National stores like pottery barn mixed in with boutiques. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

“Needs an anchor store!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2014

Hyde Park has always been a favorite but on a recent visit we found more shops closed and a lack of "vibrancy" that used to attract us to this area. The restaurants are great and Cinebistro is the best...just need a great Anchor Store to draw people, excitement and the South Tampa vibe we used to love. The owners need to step it up before Tampa looses this treasure.

“Nice little shopping district”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2014

Lovely little shopping district to browse around at, but a bit pricey. You can run through all the shops within a few hours but still a fun little diversion, with interesting stores like Francessca's and pottery barn.

“Historic Quaint Community - Nice to Walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2014

Just South of downtown Tampa, Hyde Park is an old historic Tampa community with grandfather oak lined streets that invite you to take a stroll down the canopy shaded sidewalks and admire the historic bungalow style homes.

The shopping and restaurants are concentrated along Swann and Snow avenue with the epicenter being Snow ave and South Dakota ave. There you will find restaurants and unique shops concentrated in about a three block area. In it's heyday there were many more retail, restaurants, shops and unique boutiques. However, over the past couple years the area has had a resurgence of sorts and many more retail business are rediscovering the area and moving back.

The surrounding neighborhoods are just absolutely gorgeous and you could easily spend a few hours grabbing a bite to eat and then deciding to take a stroll and just check out the homes and architecture.

“Great Place To Visit or Live!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2014

I am not sure whether this is for the shopping area or the neighborhood, but it's a great place to see. But first you will have to get out of your car to get the benefit of the gorgeous early 20th century homes throughout the neighborhood. Stop into Sally O'Neal's Pizza for some of the best pizza you will ever have. And if dessert is your thing, try the tiramisu at Bella's Restaurant across the street from Sally's. There's a reason the place has been around since the mid 1980's. It's so good and it's a nice date spot. If you want to learn how to cook, register for classes at the Epicurean, the new luxury hotel from the people of Bern's Steak House. Bring your bike or rollerblades along and hit Bayshore Boulevard's sidewalk to work off the calories, or just sit on one of the benches and enjoy the people watching. On a lucky day you might spot manatees or dolphins. Later in the afternoon around Bay to Bay and Bayshore, keep a look out for a Great Blue Heron fishing for supper. Glorious!
