“Hude Park: Historic But Not Behind The Times”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2012

I have lived in Beach Park near Hyde Park for years. As a historian, I can attest that Hyde Park, both Upper and Lower is a great place for a weekend walk or drive. It is a history of Tampa residential architecture starting with the streets across from downtown - Victorian mansions, oldest schools...

But Hyde Park has South Howard (SOHO) - Tampa's row of family-owned local restaurants and nightclubs. There is the shopping area of Hyde Park Village with the Cine-Bistro. This is probably one of the most expensive places in which to buy a house or condo or rent an apartment, but you would never be more than ten minutes from downtown, WestShore, or the Airport. It is the perfect location.

“AN OLD TIME TAMPA NEIGHBORHOOD”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2012

I really enjoy the Hyde Park area because of the connection back to days gone by. Many of the homws have been restored to it's earlier spendon and takes you back to the 30's and 40's with the big wrap around porches. You can imaring summer nights when families shared time with each other. It is a friendly neighborhood great for photography and remembering when life was simplier

Nice shops, especially Anthoroplogy and William Sonoma. Shop and then have coffee by the park. Great location, quiet and calm.

“In South Tampa”

The shops could be a little better but there are a few very good restaurants and bars. Hop over to SOHO for more great places less than a quarter mile away.
